Has anyone had a silly “lightbulb” moment while exercising?

@dawn16 One thing I've loved about Covid is I've been able to go to the gym earlier. Now that we are being asked back into work I'm right back into the rush hour time, I work from 7am-5pm. The one bummer about returning to the office. If you have the option to not go during rush hour do it!!

    I had a DEXA scan done! 35F, 5’7”, 176lbs, 30.4% BF

@mynas A trainer at my gym says around 3% inaccurate for a good scale but he estimates around 5% off for the OK ones.

Has anyone had a silly “lightbulb” moment while exercising?

@m32s Deadlifts. I had been doing them for about a year but didn't realize or figure out they are primarily a hip hinge movement. While doing landmine deadlifts, because the other deadlift platforms were being used, it clicked I'm supposed to move my hips first before pulling up". It was just...

My spin instructor made me cry!

@cepha I’ve had some horrible experiences with class instructors, especially when it comes to cardio. Think it is one of the many reasons I dislike doing cardio at the gym and classes as well. She sounds very unprofessional. instructors who behave this way is why many people stop attending...

How getting fit has changed your life

@hlb Mentally--I really don't think anything else helps me to be more mentally clear. From everyday decisions to big ones, it helps to clear my mind and just can keep focus more when I'm exercising. Also, it keeps those down days away a bit more. My posture is better, my mind is better, I'm...

Study: Back Squat produces better glute growth than hip thrust

@scotty85 Correct.....but the hip thrust advocates vote down or comment against any comment that favors anything but hip thrusts. I’ve have slowly realized its nothing more than an isolation exercise. I do hip thrusts and will continue to them. However it being treated like one of the king of...

Study: Back Squat produces better glute growth than hip thrust

@qork It works for a lot of people. However, Hip thrusts don’t do a lot for me and cable pull throughs plus squats have made the real difference. I’ve been down voted for even saying it. Some people are cultish about hip thrusts. Like it is ”The one and only”!!!

I can’t even do a wall push. Not even one

@alidvx Push ups are IMO the hardest exercise out there. Even the trainers at my gym agree. One of them said it takes longer to build up to full on pushups than a loaded squat for many of his clients, especially women. I’m horrible at them but what has helped for me are doing barbell chest...
