3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@godisworking101 I just wanted to add one recommendation: cut out the TV watching during your lifting sessions. It significantly reduces your efficiency. It's also better to be in the present. During rest times it's a good practice to focus on what you're doing next, and think about how your...

Working out, work, and life balance

@ilovemyfather Surprisingly it's pretty chill. What really helps is completely removing my car commutes. 7-10 minute bike ride for school dropoff and office is a huge luxury, and working out at home makes it easy to schedule in workouts.

Working out, work, and life balance

@ilovemyfather You'll get more resilient and conditioned over time over the years, and won't need a break/nap right after working out. Minimize time transitioning to working out. Home gym is key for me. See r/homegym for ideas. When I work from home I literally turn around from my computer and...

    Information Overload

@ilovegod777 Keep it simple. The best thing to invest in is time. Consistency is better than the perfect plan. Be kind to yourself along the way.

    Fat and Tired

@silverflame This is the hardest part of making changes. There's a wealth of information and guidance out there. My advice: focus on nutrition first, build some good food habits, and get out of the feedback loop of using food for stress-relief. For the fitness/training side, get into the...

How much money per month do you invest on fitness?

@kjvbible1611 Probably not a useful answer, but my online trainer was my in-person trainer for a few years before I had to relocate for work. Because we had worked together pretty closely it was really easy to switch to remote training. He gets the training data that I fill out after every...

Working out with babies requires sacrifice from the entire family

@redeemedsinner Having gone through this, here's what I know to be true It's hard It's still about priorities. Your kid is now a new priority Communication with your partner is key Things will have to change. Could be your fitness goals, or how you achieve them. Suck it up and get it all...

How much money per month do you invest on fitness?

@defd2000 When I had a dedicated garage gym I had horse-stall mats, but I don't recommend that. I'm now in a smaller place with my gym in my office room. I have a synthetic-wood floor which is good enough for lifts. With bumper plates I'm not worried about messing up the floor, and I don't drop...

How much money per month do you invest on fitness?

@defd2000 On purely training/fitness: $60/month for personal trainer (online) $24/month for Peloton membership home gym: no monthly cost On sports/physical activities: too much. Ironically the better in shape we all get, the more physical activities we are able to do, which means more...

If my coworkers can have a 10minute smoke break why can’t I have a 10minute micro workout?

@hercrazierhalf I get you, but this isn't fitness issue. It's a workplace culture issue. Make sure your boss knows you're doing an excellent job and you can basically do whatever you want when you take a break. And it's fine to bring tofu to eat but don't grandstand it and make it a work...

If my coworkers can have a 10minute smoke break why can’t I have a 10minute micro workout?

@abstractrythm234 Yeah exactly. Your break is your business. If someone asks, fine, but there's no benefit to soapboxing on it.

@jbrad01x Totally agree. To this I'll also add: "and if that person promises results in an impressive amount of time, it's definitely a scam".

@dawn16 Roll up the (unopened) pack of cigs in your sleeve for effect while you do pushups.

Podcast Summary: Why Dr. Mike Israetel Changed His Mind on Fat Loss Strategies, Fasting & Blood Sugar

@sharkbait13 Yeah I've been between keto and low carb for 4+ years. Meals basically look the same as a general meal just a bit more protein and veg, no pasta and bread, no dessert. The extreme fat overloading doesn't quite work and probably isn't sustainable for toilet paper reasons.

Podcast Summary: Why Dr. Mike Israetel Changed His Mind on Fat Loss Strategies, Fasting & Blood Sugar

@sharkbait13 I think the excessive sat fat comment is towards the extreme keto followers. I largely do low carb and keto-ish myself but some keto people go down the path of maximizing fat consumption which isn't correct. Like you said it's hard to eat a stick of butter anyway.

Is there anything I can do that doesn’t require me to change my diet, but will still make me loose weight?

@psalms91forme If you can't change nutrition you won't lose weight. Simple as that. I'm asian too. What you feel is a constant/given...how much of that is actually true?
