@samuel74abi I have done them both ways and gotten a good squeeze so I think it’s mostly preference.

@maxi492 It helps to try EVERYTHING even exercises you think may be too hard or don’t initially appeal to you. I’ve known about glute marches for years but wrote them off for whatever reason. Now they are a go-to activation for me.

@volunteers I would always feel them firing first when I would try to do glute work so it may be a case of weak glutes vs true dominance but I can activate them with no problem and they respond well/quickly to training.

@juliusgulius18 I am hamstring dominant so I really wanted to find exercises that took them and the low back out of the equation. I hope these tips help!

@randd That’s the attitude! I really felt like I was spinning my wheels at the gym so quarantine has been helpful in allowing me to refocus and learn better movement patterns.

@dawn16 You may not be able to get it with your trunk horizontal. It's okay to keep your upper body more upright until you can progress to how he's situated in the video. I had to do it that way for a while before I got it.

@reborninfire Keep practicing! It is an advanced/challenging exercise, more mental than anything. Focus on squeezing as best as you can, even if you can't get the leg off the ground. I couldn't pick mine up AT ALL but I kept at it. Change your goal to feeling your glutes vs getting off the...

Unconventional/overlooked glute builders for comatose (not just 'sleepy') booties!

Despite exercising consistently for some time now I've been feeling as though my glute development was lagging. Instead of being discouraged that gyms are closed due to covid-19 I decided to get back to basics and really master activating and engaging my glute muscles so when I can get back to...
