    @cmvince54 Maybe a midwest thing to observe the difference? I've lived in the south and the west coast and never met anyone who thought they were different. For most of my life I thought spade was just the british word for a shovel.

    @hope In my experience it's contextual. If you mention shovelling snow everyone will assume you mean with a snow shovel. If you want to plant a tree you might get a spade or a digging shovel and they will be considered the same thing.

    @farmerdex It's horrible for your strength on that rep, but going as deep as is comfortable is beneficial in training

    @momofone1 OP, I am a coach, these are the recommendations you need. I would work on ankle dorsiflexion first. I also have long femurs and that was the thing that was most helpful to my squat. Feel free to use wedges or lifting shoes with a heel if you need to, but try to develop ankle...

    @alicia0201 Stronglifts is basically the same program and has a slick free app. Iirc the only difference is stronglifts doesn't encourage beginners to do cleans (uses bb rows instead)
