Is this dumb? Why can’t I enjoy my free gym options? Just get the expensive membership?

@jay1969 I mean you are already focused on cardio.

I [18F] kinda dislike going to the gym and being active and I don’t know how to fix it

@anylene Go speak to your therapist about this. There's far more to unpack (and for you to work on) than we can help you with.

Learn to play sports as an adult?

@coveredgirl81 This. I’m from NZ and really miss indoor netball, but would take “normal” netball at a pinch. OP No need to get stuck in goal just because of height. Some tall people absolutely are shite shooters/goal defenders but make awesome center-fielders. No idea if netball is played...

Learn to play sports as an adult?

@papabear4811 The f is a “beer league” in this context?

    I was promised endorphins

@romans5to8 You’re the right age to be entering perimenopause. Which is the thief of energy. r/menopause. Have a read of their wiki.

Learn to play sports as an adult?

@meredithgao Given OP’s chronic illness, would definitely NOT recommend high contact sports (read: injury) like roller derby.

Low-Impact exercises that aren't boring AF?

@aaron7kh77 Good. I’m sick of ignorant instructors damaging my hearing because they idiotically think louder is motivational. It’s fucking not. I wish noise volume limiters on music levels were compulsory in all gym classes everywhere. Probably your gym did it to protect employee’s hearing...

Closing off week 9 of BBG and I still can’t do jack knives 😩 Help!

@lanieloo Keep upper body on the floor and just raise the legs ( lying leg raises ) instead. Still activates the abs, but with less risk of injuring your back.

I have to eat 1/3 of my calories before bed or I can't sleep..

@a1235 It's unlikely to be metabolism, and purely due to the amount of exercise she's doing.

    DEXA Results: 24 y/o, 5’5”, 142 lbs, 31% BF

@dxblorna Meh. I’m 152, 63kg, come out at 30% body fat. And I look a lot like OP. So do other women on this sub. Everyone’s fat/muscle distribution is unique. It’s entirely possible OP is 31%. But getting focused on the actual number is meaningless - being a few percentage points either side...

Lower body gains update from an Apple-shaped girlie

@stargazeruk If OP feels she’s made gains that’s great. But the point is that it’s not at all obvious from the photos.

Lower body gains update from an Apple-shaped girlie

@jewlyen If you want to do photo comparisons properly, then do them properly. Exactly the same pose, camera angle, lighting, everything. Otherwise you end up with what you’ve shown: images that don’t allow for accurate comparison (and “improvements” could easily be achieved by simply...

    worried about pelvic floor strength

@maksik288 45 years old here. No pelvic floor issues. I don’t do anything specific to strengthen pelvic floor: I just lift heavy stuff and put it down again, with good form. I suspect the women you speak with either have a) very little fitness and/or b) recently gave birth and/or c) genetic...

    Does body recomposition actually work?

@_marc97 Yes. This is only the millionth time this question has been asked on this sub. Why won’t people do a search? Or read the sub info.

Is it possible to recomp without dieting and tracking?

@thetravman Not with the speed of success you’d get from tracking.
