Lifting is a women's bestfriend for getting toned. (-5lbs, 19.5% bodyfat)

@sharkiemcgee No calories at all from dinner Friday night until breakfast Monday morning. Just water, coffee and a bit of salt for blood pressure. There's a lot of variations though so experiment and find out which one works for your lifestyle! Some people will do a 24 hour fast from dinner one...

Lifting is a women's bestfriend for getting toned. (-5lbs, 19.5% bodyfat)

@angelbaby1977 The first day not at all. Your glycogen seems to be high enough in the first 24 hours to lift at full potential. I usually fasted Saturday and Sunday, so on the second day no workouts. On Monday I would notice a small decrease in lifts (maybe 5lbs less or 1 less rep) but that...

@prairierose I think you're right. I've been doing rough estimates since I switched to the IF routine. Might be time to pull out MFP again and track.

@idris07bon Hell YES I still drink coffee! Going through caffeine withdrawal and fasting at the same time is not something I ever want to experience. Coffee and tea are ok in my books.

@dawn16 The occasional headache or low blood pressure for sure from fasting - especially on the second day. It takes a while to get the hang of how much water you need to drink and how much salt you need to consume to mitigate the side effects. A teaspoon of sea salt made a big difference in my...

@ephraimite That's good advice. Hopefully this fall I can start another longer/more serious bulk and put on more muscle for next year. How long would you recommend bulking for and how much weight gain would be a good goal to aim for on a month by month basis when bulking?

@biblelinguist I've oscillated between 130lbs and 140lbs for the last 14 years so this is a pretty normal weight for me. It's actually 4lbs higher than my weight last summer. It's a weight I feel comfortable, healthy, and strong at. I'll probably bulk come September as I prepare for a long...

Before and After Picture I began a serious lifting journey at the end of January thanks to this sub. For science, and to start things with data in hand I got my first DEXA scan at the beginning of this process. My DEXA stats on January 21 were: Height: 5'9" Bodyfat: 22.4% Weight: 139 lbs...
