I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@tiffaz I get what you‘re saying but how do you know I need a deload?

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@tiffaz Thank you! I‘m a bit confused why I should decrease volume tbh. I‘ve been working out regularly for the past three or so years, so my body is somewhat adapted to that kind of stress. Pull ups have also always been part of my life since I started to work out. So are you saying I should...

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@jermyn Maybe but then the core/whatever day is missing and I don‘t like that. I also take rest days inbetween id needed. Lower is like Squats 3x12 Hip thrusts 4x12 Kettle bell scale (single leg RDL) 3x10 Leg extension 3x12 (very slow and controlled, so quite low in weight bc I have knee...

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@waheetha Thanks! And should I go to failure in every one of those sets?

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@waheetha That‘s what I thought of doing. But does it actually make sense to add weight when I only can do 3 or so reps with it? I always wanted to add drop sets but it‘s so annoying with adding/changing bands quickly etc. Maybe it‘s finally time to try, though.

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@beastnate123 Just out of curiosity: did you complete it and what were your results?

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@beastnate123 I guess it‘ll focus on pull ups only which is problematic because I don‘t want to neglect other stuff. I‘ll look it up nonetheless, thanks :)

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@esdra Included it now in my original post. Sorry, I somehow didn‘t think of it. 2x/week is upper body (so pull ups included)

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@izaach I have an upper/lower split, so no pull/push day. I feel like doing them on a „non-upper“ day will affect recovery too much. I‘ll just add them to my upper days before the workout and see what happens. Thanks! :)

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@izaach So before my regular upper body workout I could just throw in one (two, three, …?) sets of max negativ pull-ups?

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@izaach How to incorporate them? Do I do them instead of my pull up sets? Or at the end of my session? How many?

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@31sparrow Thanks. I do 3x 3-8, should have made that clearer. The number was meant to show my max reps. I do this twice per week in a superset with pike push ups. I‘m also nowhere near pulling to my sternum and really want to build up my pull up game to then progress to the muscle up. Long way...

@hackthegibson Indeed. Luckily, it‘s temporary in this case!

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@hackthegibson I increased volume a lot but wasn‘t happy with my form either and am using bands for now. Haven‘t had a chance to train properly and won‘t have for the next week because I‘m on a business trip and there‘s nothing here I can hang from 🥲 I even searched for a cali park and found ons...
