“A woman shouldn’t be doing an Arnold split.”

@jimjam oh damn, well i'm impressed you're still kicking ass. and admittedly, i want visible abs so i focus them a lot more than is probably needed.

“A woman shouldn’t be doing an Arnold split.”

@jimjam 😆 heads up though, your core will ~eventually~ lag behind making it sketchy to keep a straight spine while lifting. i like to use my daily 15 minutes of cardio to squeeze in core and other odds and ends with a hiit circuit. i mix this up a lot but here's an example of what i mean...

“A woman shouldn’t be doing an Arnold split.”

@jimjam what if you get hysterical mid bench press and your tampon falls out??? /s the arnold split is a classic solid program. though, i'd recommend replacing the core exercises. his selection there is kind of dated. situps are risky for your neck and waste energy compared to crunches and he...

IMO, the sub name has to be changed. 90% of the posts here are in the wrong sub

@somethingillusory yup. if this exclusionary mindset is really how this sub wants to be, then i'll be heading out. i like variety, i like helping the noobies with both their strength and weightloss goals, i don't like these people in here bitching up a storm over nothing.

Is it possible for someone in my circumstances to get a pull-up bar...?

@kaylen500 yes, the tension rods hold a surprising amount of weight. it's a fine option to start with. i recommend some dip bars too. for ~50 bucks they're insanely useful.

Do certain Pilates Moves attribute to more of a boxy figure? Confused!!

@jnicole conceptually, yes you are spot on. but 😅 i think you're underestimating how difficult it is to actually build muscle. also how easy it is to lose. imo, aim for full body fitness and get your bmi where you want it first. that way you can see your body shape clearly and figure out...

Is it appropriate for a coach to physically correct you?

@kingshellie i expect people to use their words first and give me some heads up before they touch me. i will literally jump out of my skin if someone just grabs me suddenly, man or woman doesn't matter, it still spooks me. and feels like an invasion if i don't have time to say 'don't'. he must...
