OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@jcoliver75 Having a place to row is ideal, but there will be a (less good) substitute for rows for people that cant acquire a place to row by day 1! Other than that, no equipment should be necessary

New Years 2023 Announcement: BWF Primer Follow-along Event + BWSF Routine Soft-Launch!

@dawn16 A level 3 pre-pike has the shoulders starting over the hands like a normal pushup, but the hips are positioned like a pike, and you then push into a full overhead position. A pike pushup starts in the full overhead position, and ends in a full overhead position. Here's an illustrative...

BWF Primer Build-Up Community Event: Day 6

@tony101365 There was a link to the guide on day 3, just below the link to the rows guide! :) Here it is if you don't wanna go back to Day 3 and look

New Years 2023 Announcement: BWF Primer Follow-along Event + BWSF Routine Soft-Launch!

@monkiesmama Bridges as in Thoracic Bridges are a super niche demonstration of high levels of thoracic and hip extension rather than a way to effectively develop either of those, or strength. Their place in convict conditioning is a little baffling to me as they don't really have any utility in...

@diesellover There will be pre-requisites for each program, so whatever set of pre-requisites you can hit will dictate which program is appropriate for your level!

New Years 2023 Announcement: BWF Primer Follow-along Event + BWSF Routine Soft-Launch!

@cybermommy2011 Since the 2017 update of the RR, it's been recommended that skill work be separated from the main training into a 'skill day', which can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/wiki/kb/skillday/ It operates the same as it would with the old RR, simply do it on...

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@jared01 Download a metronome app on your phone, set it to 60bpm and play it while you do any static holds. Count the ticks as seconds! Easiest way to track.

New Years 2023 Announcement: BWF Primer Follow-along Event + BWSF Routine Soft-Launch!

@sophiamary Of all the things wrong with the RR, that's an exceptionally minor critique, to the degree that it was barely on my radar. Training the lower back will always be EXTREMELY limited without the assistance of external load. Pretty much the only reliable option is the reverse...

New Years 2023 Announcement: BWF Primer Follow-along Event + BWSF Routine Soft-Launch!

@dawn16 Don't worry it'll still be accessible, it just won't be the main routine of the sub that is recommended to everyone. It will be in an 'old routines' section! And you're very welcome!

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 9

@tabernaculumnus The order that the exercises are done during the buildup are from newest to oldest. At the beginning you have more brain space to focus on form and performing a new unfamiliar movement, and the more familiar ones come when that focus and effort is less required. Once you get to...

New Years 2023 Announcement: BWF Primer Follow-along Event + BWSF Routine Soft-Launch!

@tholah1 You've asked a lot of very excellent questions, but they require a bit of a long answer, so bear with me. There are two common issues when it comes to dips. Anterior shoulder pain, and costochondral pain. The latter is why they've not been included as standard. Anterior shoulder pain...

New Years 2023 Announcement: BWF Primer Follow-along Event + BWSF Routine Soft-Launch!

@tholah1 Comment part 2. This time I'll address your query about birddogs (and by extension, deadbugs) being a good 'bang for buck'. tl;dr birddog's are a deep well of utility when it comes to motor control and intermuscular coordination that is transferable to other exercises. It is not...

New Years 2023 Announcement: BWF Primer Follow-along Event + BWSF Routine Soft-Launch!

@kellyomara Hey GothicFighter! Thanks for the feedback. Having an explanation of tempo is an excellent idea, I think I had meant to put a paragraph in about it a while back but the ADHD do be doing its thing. It'll go on the top of the list for written content additions. :) And thanks for...

New Years 2023 Announcement: BWF Primer Follow-along Event + BWSF Routine Soft-Launch!

@unikitty999 I personally recommend straight sets rather than pairing for the following reasons outlined in this comment: Having said that, if you're an RR veteran and you find comfort or enjoyment in the habit of pairing exercises, or if they help you to save time, then by all means!
