Need advice with my diet for gaining weight

@seinfeld In order to gain weight you need to make sure you’re tracking your calories and are consistently eating in a calorie surplus. Adding some protein powder to your smoothie, adding protein pasta to your last meal, having a snack in between a meal(s) could help.

What are the dumbest things you’ve heard about a “vegan diet”?

@blindly28 “Cows need to be milked” is always pretty silly. Yeah, by their babies?? Also I used to do a lot of online activism and got some assault threats from farmers and even had my face edited on to a box of condoms to “help prevent fuckwits” so that was fun!

High protein breakfast that’s not tofu

@deimante I love the hot & spicy MorningStar sausage. 10g of protein for 1. The original and maple flavors are 9g. Have a couple of those with protein waffles for 30g. Or throw some potatoes, sausage & veg in a tortilla for a breakfast burrito for 30+g of protein.

    Weight fluctuating 35F

@doanu89 It is normal for weight to fluctuate and it doesn’t necessarily mean fat gain. It can be from where you’re at in your hormonal cycle, water retention, heck even exercise can cause your weight to fluctuate due to inflammation in your muscle fibers. I’m 5’4” and constantly weighing...

Has anyone ever had chronic ankle pain due to ankle sprain?

@dlantoni I sprained my ankle back in early February pretty badly from skateboarding and it’s about 99% healed now. I never got mine checked out but it was veryyyy swollen and bruised (I would assume grade 2). Still feels a little funny when I turn it but other than that it’s much better. 9...

    Trouble gaining weight

@hopefaith I would get a food measuring scale (they aren’t expensive) to weigh your food out and plug that into the app My Fitness Pal.

    Trouble gaining weight

@hopefaith Are you tracking your food to make sure you’re eating in a calorie surplus? You might think you’re eating a lot but actually tracking ensures you’re hitting more than enough calories.

Seriously who said “vegans can’t be strong?”

@itsmeandylee “Who said vegans can’t be strong?” lots of people. “Why can’t we say stuff like Plant Powered?” you are more than welcome to. Acknowledging vegans can build muscle due to the stereotype that vegans are often unhealthy, sickly, weak, fragile, and for men feminized, etc doesn’t...

    Struggling to gain muscle mass

Also, are you following a specific plan? If not it might help if you do! I was doing CBum’s plan for a while and really liked the results.

    Struggling to gain muscle mass

@jrock8787 I understand you said tracking macros in the past has been stressful but it is really helpful when you have specific goals, such as gaining muscle. Personally I don’t pay much attention to fats/carbs and instead focus on protein/calories, so that should feel less stressful. Without...
