[Podcast] How to Change your Body-Fat Setpoint ft. Lyle McDonald

@seanykins You get close to all of the muscle gains you ever going to get in 3-5 years of consistent training, beyond that you have to continue training super hard to get pretty much unnoticeable muscle. So if you're not a competitor, once you get there you may want to move on to other things...

@frankie8297 Also if you're a beginner (less than a year of consistent training) you're probably training too much.

    Compendium of Workout Routines

@shan2016 Brilliant. Because every routine I would recommend has already been posted here, a related thing: how to progress (how/when to increase weight, reps, how hard to lift, what to do during a plateau, etc.) works with any program, use it when a program doesn't have a progression model.

@frankie8297 If you're losing weight, it has nothing to do with test levels, weight is 100% calories.

Does Meal Timing Matter? - Menno Henselmans, Stronger by Science/Danny Lennon & Roberts et al

@redwolf6 As a side note, making posts like this is a great idea. So when there's a topic in the wiki that may appear to have some controversy surrounding it, or that dispels some persistent myth, you just copy-paste it as a post and add a link to that discussion into the wiki section.

Question thread for our AMA with Dr. Brandon M Roberts and Dr. Peter J Fitschen starting Wednesday April 15th!

@paparazi257 Q4Both: Something that's often a source of constant conflict outside of the scientific community, especially in social media, is using research which can be interpreted as supporting a point in theory, but completely ignoring the effect size. Considering the numerous topics that...

Weekly Question Thread - Week of 9/7/2020

@leozw If you don't do any reckless stuff in the gym (chronic use of bad form and always using low reps and heavy weight), lower back problems are usually more related to your lifestyle and not to what you do in the gym, the existing problem just manifests in the gym because you stress the...

@thepcwife For sure and that's just the timeline for publication, from there to making an impact in the practical applications that's another journey altogether. More reason to keep up to date and to follow the people who are involved in research in the first place like yourselves who can offer...

Eric Helms - Does Evidence make you work harder or less hard? Training to Failure Recommendations (Summary Included)

@great_depression I have a beef with the "working hard" bandwagoners and it's the following: What they call "working hard" is actually the easiest thing ever, what they dismiss is the real hard work. They're just rationalizing being lazy, so being hypocrites. What they call "working hard" is...

Today would’ve marked the start of a 15 week prep. Here’s the result of 6 weeks of cleaning up the bulk in anticipation of this contest prep

@radmilabartosova There's no downside to higher protein intakes for healthy individuals, in fact besides the direct effect on muscle protein synthesis, with some studies showing higher protein intakes to be better for muscle preservation and some other studies showing it makes no difference to...
