My journey to a pro bodybuilder

@redwolf6 Oh my calves get veiny, just hard to tell in the pics. Mine look bigger when I cut, but I think that's just because their are more noticeably defined.

@shibolet Man, I wish my calves would grow! They get just as much volume as every other muscle. If you find the secret, please share!

@jmjinks My approach on my reverse has been a bit aggressive since I'm not competing for a while and am not too worried about getting fluffy quick. P:185 C:340 F:100......this has been slowly increasing over the past six weeks. I'm currently about 20lbs over my stage weight. My fat probably...

@evea You look great man! I'd say try to add a little more width to your upper body (shoulders/back) and work on your posing. A few small tweaks and I think you'll do very well in shows.

My journey to a pro bodybuilder

@evea I wish I could say I had some magic secret for building big shoulders, haha. I do all your standard lifts such as OHP, lateral raises, rear flys, etc. I think the big thing though is I constantly try and push my accessory lifts while maintaining good form. My offstage weight is around...

@7thfloorwind Yeah, give or take a couple reps depending on movement.

My journey to a pro bodybuilder

@7thfloorwind I did ULULU with progressive overload. My rep and set ranges were different every week for my compounds depending on the percent weight I was lifting. The lowest was 3x3 and the highest was 5x4. I'd have two days of heavy and 3 days of hypertrophy work. My hypertrophy days would...

My journey to a pro bodybuilder

@alej You got it. I can now only compete in shows that offer a pro category. This really limits the amount of shows I can actually do, since pros are much harder to come by than amateurs so very few shows offer a pro category.

Weekly Question Thread - Week of 10/1/2018

@jayrashman Always remember, how heavy weight is, is only relevant to the person lifting it. Only work with weight that you can still perform full range of motion and proper form with. If you can't go to depth in your squat with heavier weight, than stick to the weight where you can.

My journey to a pro bodybuilder

@alej The category you're competing in has to have a minimum amount of competitors. Each class in a category has 1 winner (short, medium, tall or by weight). These winners are then judged against each other for the "overall" title. The winner of the overall than receives a pro card and can only...

My journey to a pro bodybuilder

@eskokukko I found my coach through my girlfriend's co-worker. She was a competitive bikini athlete who recommended him to us after we expressed interest.

My journey to a pro bodybuilder

@eskokukko It depends on your interests. There are plenty of great personal trainers out there for general fitness. Mine just happens to be more geared towards competitive bodybuilders. You can find them through your local gym, seminars, bodybuilding shows, IG, or just ask someone who competes...

My journey to a pro bodybuilder

@pbmule2 I have plans to compete in late 2020. My second show of this season was my pro debut and I realized that if I want to remain competitive, I'll need to come in even bigger and leaner. So my goal currently is just put on as much lean mass as I can for the next year or two.

My journey to a pro bodybuilder

@pbmule2 While I was able to make great progress alone, my coach was key in helping me reach that next level. There is no way I would have continued making the progress I did without his help and support.

@hopetoday It's not whether the shoulders can handle it, it's whether you can.
