3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@cosimnot very helpful suggestions i actually use bars for push ups, i find that pushups without bars still hurt my wrists. and i actually have a weighted vest, but i can definitely use it in the push ups, that's a great idea thanks

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@cosimnot thanks, very helpful suggestions since i exercise from home, i can't reliably do the zercher sqauts without safely picking up the barbell from a rack and the issue with db benches is that with pushups i can control my wrists much better, with dumbbells i risk hurting it, as i did...

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@regisdominus well as i said in the edit, it's a few bits of equipment in the corner of my home office, and my job thankfully gives me some flexibility

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@dsandoval12 thank you i am cutting, 10 reps per set, i will try to minimize rest times as far as keeping focus, i like lifting, probably longer rest times help with enjoying it and makes it feel less like torture lol

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@dsandoval12 between sets is basically however much i need to get my breath back for isolation it's usually 1 minute, for compounds (especially RDL and rows) it's about 3-5 minutes

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@dsandoval12 not really, i had a blood pressure scare last december, and i felt it was high time i made a real change in my life i have good control over my nutrition ( i always cooked my meals so food intake was easy to make long term changes), so i believe i'm in a good place for these...

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@brianehall i appreciate your suggestions, full body makes more sense for me for a few reasons i would like a full body because i don't want to combine lifting and cardio back-to-back for interference phenomena i also don't want to do both on the same day because i prefer to finish my workout...

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@palmtreeclimber makes sense, i have some goals in place that are achievable, and know what the new goals would be when hopefully the first goals are achieved thanks for the suggestion

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@palmtreeclimber yeah, currently i have a low-stress remote job so i can spend 12 hours a week exercising while also working ( i'm on the cycling machine 1.5 hours each on Tuesdays and Thursdays) basically using this chance as long as i can

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@fingerprintsofgod yes, sorry i should be detailing these things my main goal is to look better aesthetically better. obviously i would like to be stronger, but i feel the strength i am gaining by focusing mainly on aesthetics is enough for me i am currently cutting and plan to do so for a few...

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@steve126 no actually, and i can't risk one over the doorway, i'm scared of damaging it, i am already about 180 lbs

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@irisheyez i understand, what i mean is when i'd do supersets, i had just barely enough energy left at the end of each superset when i did them separately, it's basically half a superset so i had more energy left at the end of each set, so i found i could add 0.5-1 times more weight for each...

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@yhdks i tried supersets some months ago. i did shrugs and calf raises together one day i did them separately and found i could lift way more than with supersets since then i never really tried supersets anymore was i doing something wrong maybe?

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@mbennett024 no need to apologize my friend i can say with confidence that i would easily shave 20 minutes off my workouts if i wasn't watching an engrossing series during my workouts, sometimes i'd forget i was resting for 5 minutes when i could have done with 3 because i was glued to the...

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@mbennett024 i mentioned my rest times in the post, but i'll clarify here a bit better for my isolation exercises i'd take about a minute, but the ones that tire me out more (like RDLS and bent over rows) i'd take 3-5 minutes, basically however long i need to get my breath back thanks for the...

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

@lordsservant121 i was actually doing squats, but i have a bad left knee, and i found that with extensions, i can stress my quads more without my knee feeling anything

3 hours too much for full body weightlifting 3 days/week?

Hi everyone, I found comfort in my current routine, which is lifting Mon-Wed-Fri so i have at least 48 hours in between. 3 hours sounds like a lot, but i will break down my exercises for clarity - 9 sets biceps (3 sets wide grip curl, 3 sets close grip curl, 3 sets hammer curl) - 9 sets...

Drawing up a 3 day full body routine for myself, would appreciate suggestions

@amn i like dr mike, the issue with him is that sometimes he throws around acronyms and highly technical terms which makes the video hard to understand for noobs like myself i will seek out the other two, thanks again

Drawing up a 3 day full body routine for myself, would appreciate suggestions

@amn i use overhead extensions with dumbbells so that i stress my wrists less, after my injury in 2018, 2023 is the first year where i can actually put any weight on it, so i'm just being careful for now, my biceps are with the ez barbell though i should educate myself more on the concepts of...
