"If you can't hold a plank for 120 seconds, you're either a) too fat; b) too weak; or c) doing something wrong in your workouts." How true is this?

@dunak You should mix a bit of both. Accessory work is great for any sport practice but the defining aspect of how good of a runner you are will be your running work. What people are saying is that focusing on plank time just for the sake of plank time isn’t “general core strength”.

Is there too much emphasis on strength in general and Weightlifting in particular in the Crossfit Opens workouts?

@orochii7 The Open is open to everyone but that's still a qualifier for the Games so there'll always be clear cut-offs between gymgoers, hobbyists and actual athletes. On to the individual points: This completely disregards the fact that everything else cardio/gymnastic related favors lighter...

Breaking - Roman is injured (confirmed)

@juju05 It’s about going through workout with a broken foot just to show grit? That’s stupid. I assumed there was minimum work required, if that’s not the case, that was completely unwarranted, dangerous and probably pushed just by this nonsense perspective. Glad he went through it...

Baylee Rayl not competing in the 2024 CrossFit Games

@jadex Can’t we just use 2 brain cells to understand that young athletes using the “god want us to do something else” probably just means “Crossfit doesn’t pay so I need to focus on education to get a real job”?

    5/3/1 (nSuns) with CrossFit question

@dawn16 Yeah, 5/3/1 is great to use along with Crossfit, just be sensible and don't do any secondary strength work in the Crossfit classes and scale appropriately to keep the wod conditioning-focused. If you just did your deadlift session don't do RX Diane, even if your PR is 600lbs. If...

These bad dips need to stop

@10trouble13 Good luck enforcing strict ring dips in a crossfit competition lol

@talkingbunny Isn't it possible that using BTWB as reference draws from a pool of more competent enthusiasts?
