If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

@jc44 You are one of the tallest guys who reached a full planche, they should feature you on the Bar Giants page, I thought they'd already added you there. If you want to share something about your training journey it would be very useful for many people.

Coolest representations of calisthenics in movies, animation, video games and other media?

@naani She can bend the knees. Descending to straight arms is better, you can avoid relaxing the shoulder blades if that's a problem. Dead hangs can help if lat tightness is the problem, or using an overhand grip.

@isop777 Can you share something about your process over the years to achieve it? Congratulations, most of us will never get to this level unless very determined.

If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

Are you too tall or heavy to reach advanced calisthenics moves? The answer is not so obvious, I've found that some moves previously thought impossible past a certain height/weight have been achieved by giants, I'll share some examples. Based on some replies I got in the comments, I'll point...

Calisthenics Intermediate Hypertrophy Program using Dr. Mike Israetel's Volume Guidelines

@cbsmel Good idea. To make good use of the guidelines it's also important to determine how much the various movements count for the volume of various muscles, in many exercises the load is distributed and there's not a muscle that works much harder than the others. For example pseudo planche...

Coolest representations of calisthenics in movies, animation, video games and other media?

@faintfuzzies The arm position looks like an elbow lever but the lack of stabbing the elbows into the hips makes it look like a bent arm planche, which is more badass.

@chickenbaltiriceandnaan That was what inspired this thread, it was already in the original post. :D

    Strict Calisthenics bulk. 166-185lbs

@saminni I think you should edit some more context into the original post, like height, age and your starting strength level with weights and with the bodyweight exercises you tried first. It looks like you were already very strong and through hard work you got stronger and learned to apply...

Coolest representations of calisthenics in movies, animation, video games and other media?

The training montage from Rocky is famous for the straddle one arm pushups with a flared elbow at 0:50, and dragon flags appear in Rocky IV. In this Jackie Chan scene there is a pistol squat at 0:56. For cartoons and anime this scene from Avatar shows inverted situps, free handstand pushups on...

Iron cross unlocked after 5 years of struggle

@isop777 Can you edit in some context about your height, weight, starting age and level in the post? It's important since these significantly affect the progress rate. Not to take away anything from the achievement, which requires plenty of dedication at any height for everyone except the...
