Diamond pushups use more chest than wide pushups (from a study that also examined standard, pseudo-planche and simplified Lalanne pushups)

@cultivar Rings would also help to avoid elbow flaring and shoulder impingement. In fact chest flyes on rings are similar to ring wide pushups, and I've seen Ben Bruno doing an interesting drop set.

    Bodyweight Fitness Progress Chart

@jellybug78 That's not bad, since the one leg press can challenge the quads more than leg extensions when the friction is high. You could have pistol -> weighted pistol (or as an alternative partial ROM friction pistol) -> smooth surface friction pistol -> rough surface friction pistol...

Diamond pushups use more chest than wide pushups (from a study that also examined standard, pseudo-planche and simplified Lalanne pushups)

@bmscott85 The study may not be as useful as I thought after some replies I got, but I still think wide pushups are less useful (and even harmful if done with the commonly used bad form/ T shape) than the other variations.

    Bodyweight Fitness Progress Chart

@bibbigo @jellybug78 For legs I have some ideas but I'm not sure about the exact level since not many train them, I'm thinking of making a post with progressions for all the hard leg exercises and an estimated level on the OG2 charts. For Nordic curls after the normal version the next step is...

Diamond pushups use more chest than wide pushups (from a study that also examined standard, pseudo-planche and simplified Lalanne pushups)

@brotherjay Dips are also good for the chest if you do them with some forward lean, and when you can do more than 8 diamond pushups it's good to transition to harder pushups (rings, pseudo-planche, unilateral, weighted etc.). High reps of diamonds are good to prepare the elbows for slow muscle...

Diamond pushups use more chest than wide pushups (from a study that also examined standard, pseudo-planche and simplified Lalanne pushups)

@sarah5 First progress with shoulder width pushups on lower surfaces, then progress to diamond after being able to do normal ones on the floor.

If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

@dawn16 In a sport where the best athletes are around 160cm 60kg/5'3 132lbs, it's a very high weight. These moves require a lot of strength to weight ratio, so someone very tall needs to be very lean with a very muscular upper body and not particularly developed legs. I'm not sure even the...

    Most impressive weighted muscle ups

@slickn1ck80 I wish there was a good reference for the world records and stuff. You would probably need to do at least +25kg/55lbs. I don't know if Ranjit Bhachu is your weight or lighter.

Diamond pushups use more chest than wide pushups (from a study that also examined standard, pseudo-planche and simplified Lalanne pushups)

@fromgenesistorevelation Do you change both lean and added load? What's the advantage over only changing the lean angle?

    Most impressive weighted muscle ups

@margierosie The most common one arm muscle up form is very similar to a two arm glide kip. Some people can do it without much kipping, but I have not seen one fully strict. Also I have not seen anyone who did the one arm dip part without having the other hand in front of the bar instead of...

    Most impressive weighted muscle ups

@margierosie If you can already do one that's impressive. Edit: actually do you mean one arm only or one arm at a time as in chicken winging? There is quite a difference.

    Most impressive weighted muscle ups

@nom That's an advanced level I guess. World record with decent form is around 70% body weight as far as I know, so for 60kg it would be 42kg added. Not sure what's the record for your weight class in competition with judges.

@button Thank you, when I started training I hadn't seen anyone above 180cm hold a full planche so I wondered if it was impossible, but the real limit is much higher, maybe even some genetic outliers above 210cm/7' can reach it.
