Coolest representations of calisthenics in movies, animation, video games and other media?

@deegee823 But if you need to jump to grab a ledge or bar you can barely reach, you'll be in a dead hang and the lack of training in that bottom range could mean you fail to pull yourself up or do it too slow and the zombies or mutants catch you and you die because your pullups were half reps.

HEY, EVERYONE! November is here and it's PULL-UPS MOTIVATIONAL MONTH! Join us today!

@rdmarita Male, age 24, 181cm/5'11, 78kg/172lbs, one year and two months of structured training. I can currently do 7 overhand (palms forward) pullups with an 11kg/24lbs dumbbell above my knees or 11 unweighted pullups, from a passive hang to the middle of the neck touching the bar, no kipping...

@deegee823 Behind the neck is harder but the half ROM and kipping is not cool.

If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

@refrigerantcomp Thank you, at least you would have an easier time learning them if it's your goal.

    Most impressive weighted muscle ups

I have looked for the weighted muscle up world record but I'm not sure what it is. So here are some of the best examples I have found on Youtube, feel free to share more impressive heavy muscle ups in the comments. Edit from the future: David Pham +45kg/100lbs ring muscle up at 65kg/143lbs...

If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

@dawn16 Longer limbs make some bent arm movements and things like the iron cross harder because of the range of motion and lever length, but they can actually help with the planche and front lever because long arms mean less lean and that can put the muscles in a more favorable angle to produce...

Every Push-Up Progression. THE Push Up Index

@button Here's some more top level push up suggestions: Possibly the world record of Van Gelder and Zanetti reps. Deep wall one arm handstand push up. Ring strap one arm handstand push up using only the pinky finger. Ring inverted muscle up on pinky fingers. Reverse grip planche push up. Archer...

Coolest representations of calisthenics in movies, animation, video games and other media?

@samyrosario 100 Zanetti presses, 100 front lever pulls to Victorian, 100 elevated two hand shrimp squats and 10km of sprinting every single day. And no chalk for the rings to build up mental toughness, and one scoop of creatine monohydrate in the morning is fine.

If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

@soldier0fchrist Square-cube law, weight grows proportionally more than strength as height increases.

@dawn16 Wow, I though you spelled Spartacus the gladiator's name wrong but it's some kind of breakdancer superhero.

If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

@ralphjp Thank you, which legs do you mean as the big ones? My perceptions are probably too skewed after watching many calisthenics athletes who use their legs only to walk and maybe carry the groceries.

If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

@bnowacek Straight arm strength is crucial but bent arm work helps too, especially with muscle mass. My bicep gains only come from the pause at lock out in pseudo planche ups ups, assisted one arm pull ups and a supinated German hang stretch, and overhead pressing (I use pike/handstand push ups)...

If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

@bnowacek It needs a lot of strength in scapular protraction and shoulder flexion and strength of the biceps and connective tissue in the locked arms position, so we need to keep building those muscles and strengthen the elbow joint without overdoing it and getting bicep tears. There's various...

@dawn16 Can you find the one arm handstand pushups scene? For the Mario handstand do you mean this?

If you are tall or heavy don't lose hope - full planche at 202cm 102kg/6'7 225lbs and other feats by heavyweight calisthenics athletes

@bnowacek I've seen (relatively) many people at 6'/183cm with a full planche, and some of them are lighter than you. If you have heavy legs you'll have to get bigger upper body muscles too, a few years of training could get you to your goal or close if you do it in a well structured manner. I'm...

@vic_torres Thank you, I would have liked to know this level was possible when I started training.
