Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@vloggle 15 seems like a lot for me. My mind starts giving out before anything else, and those starting reps get way too explosive where I think I could do more total reps if I saved some juice in the initial reps.

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@asperd I would do that, but right now I was trying a straight sets approach with minimal dropsets to cut down on the fatigue. But that does seem like a good option.

Is it dumb to offset calories the next day?

@awoods88 If you were in a deficit prior then I'm sure you didn't put on any additional fat and most of the cals went on to replenish glycogen and stuff. Although eating 800 cals would have a considerable impact on your training which I'm sure would mean less muscle retention and more fat...

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@lovethechrist Greatly put. Totally get what you're saying. I'll vary rep ranges for different blocks for strength/hypertrophy goals.

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@piescko Agreed. I think the same way. The initial reps seem like a task just to get to the last grindy reps.

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@overcoming1 True. The concentric from the deep stretch feels great for the lats

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@ama1 Did you not find it hard to progress in the 3-5 reps range? Or did you just give absolute numbers and have also used other rep ranges to progress on chin ups.

Resources for learning muscle anatomy for bodybuilding? - “this muscle needs to be hit from X and Y angle”

@davidboyce77 Hey. What would be the course of becoming a certified trainer and what are all the options available for someone who's not from the US?

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@lishanaidoo Seriously? Doms from pull-ups? The only exercise that I get back doms from is RDL. I need to give your training approach a try

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@haroldgreen Yea. Weighted pullups are definitely enjoyable for me currently but I'm also an optimal/efficiency kinda guy. I tried to not do this because of the conflicting reports that fully extended position is more pecs, but I'll give it a shot.

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@keith841 Makes sense. Also what are your views on weighted chin ups and other supinated back exercises compared to the standard pronated pull-ups etc. For a long time I've been avoiding supinated back work thinking it's not worth it due to more biceps(shitty logic, I know) but now I've come to...

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@mstyle00 That's a nice way to standardize the exercise, I'll give it a try. Lmao so true.

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@mstyle00 Do you include barely getting chin above the bar in your 10 reps like I'm doing in the final reps, or 10 clean reps before jumping onto the next weight?

How do you exit a fat loss phase (nutrition and training)

@finita How low in body fat did you cut down to or how long and hard was your deficit? I also feel like direct maintenance makes more sense although watching the sudden scale jump will be a bit tough I guess due a slight eating disorder that I've developed during this cut😅

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

So I recently came across a podcasts from revive stronger where Dr. Mike was sharing Franco Columbo's view on weighted pull-ups link. So are weighted pull ups not worth it for hypertrophy if you can't do 12-15 reps of sternum to the bar pull ups. Personally I think these are becoming more of an...
