Can doing less *really* lead to more results?

@doubter88 Aw thank you! I’m so glad my thoughts have helped you a little. I’ve been working hard on listening to what I need to do in terms of what is best. It’s hard and sometimes I don’t listen 🤣

Can doing less *really* lead to more results?

Also I wanted to come back to say - I know it’s only a small sentence in your post, but improving sleep habits is really understated. It is SO hard to do (saying this as a fellow insulin resistant sister on metformin - mine is for PCOS). My mum tells me that I need to sleep better. I tell her...

Can doing less *really* lead to more results?

@0st Absolutely, for me. Good rest means better workouts, imo. If I’m still recovering from an intense workout, it means I can’t then push myself. If I dial it back a little, and schedule rest and recovery, it means I have the energy and strength to meet my goals. Have I had to reassess my...

Shoutout to the confident gym girls!

@leemeadow This is so true. I’ve been going to the gym and/or working out in some form for around 30 years now (yikes that makes me sound old, I’m only in my mid 40s). I am confident now but it took me a while. I was only thinking about it the other day when I went up to a section in the gym...

I *calmly* shut down unwanted male attention today!

@karin70 Go you! I cringe on the inside and haven’t got the guts to tell them to go away but you’ve inspired me. I love the response of ‘I’m good’. Last time this happened to me a guy came up to correct my shoulder lifting technique. I told him that it was a modified exercise given to me by my...

What are your non scale goals for July/august?

@uticus Keep up with my routine of 6 workouts per week (4 at the gym, 2 at home) Keep working towards my goal of deadlifting my body weight Keep working towards my goal of doing an unassisted pull-up (which will then turn into a set of 3, then a set of 5, then a set of 10). Those last two...

AMA: Megan Gallagher AKA MegSquats, creator of Stronger By The Day and Before The Barbell!

@kentuckyblue You’re my pull up inspiration - I am working, working, working … getting there slowly. At a family gathering recently my cousin asked me what the secret to my arms was 💪 and I introduced you to her. No questions from me, just thanks.

Dreaming about hiking this summer/fall (U.S.)

@jcisthelight We did this about 2 months ago in the middle of our summer and it was great. My only tip is: don’t go in wet season if you choose somewhere even mildly tropical. I think I’m only just drying out properly now. We have never seen so much rain in our lives.

Can you do a pull up if you can pull your bw in a lat pulldown?

@josh88 I’m inconsistent with my pull ups - I can do them, but not always. My goal for 2022 is to build on it so that I can consistently do them. I can only do a lat pull down of half my body weight. For me they’re unrelated, but it’s completely anecdotal.
