If you’re short and skinny (at all), and in your 20s, 30s, or 40s get your bone density checked NOW

@swpocket My husband and I both got a dexa scan because I'm a tech nerd who loves data on fitness. My bone density was higher than normal for my age (47). His was lower than it should be (he's 52). I found that odd since we both run and he's crazy strong. Turns out he has a large Vit D...

    Internalized misogyny and sports?

@lorial Yep sometimes is it rough. I work out a lot more than my husband. He is stronger and a faster runner than I am anyway. That said, it's pretty awesome to have such an athletic husband. Ever notice how men are always exercising by themselves? Go to classes and it's almost always...

    4'11" 48yo - What should I weigh?

@whitab You might want to check into the book Next Level by Stacy Sims. It will give you a better idea of why I asked the question I did. I don't press 200 either! (I have a previously herniated L5...)

@whitab Are you lifting heavy at all?

How do you make exercise not about weight loss?

@uticus I got off the scale completely. If I want to focus on numbers, I focus on how many miles a week I'm running or how much I'm lifting. I also focus on getting more protein every day and veggies. I'm focusing on numbers I want to increase rather than on the one number I was always trying...
