The answer to all the “why am I not losing weight?” posts

@butterfly2222 There is a 1000 calorie difference between my sedentary and true TDEE. It is bad advice to select an activity level that does not depict actual activity levels, as it is very inaccurate. Eating significantly lower than the calories required can lead to binging and over eating. How...

The answer to all the “why am I not losing weight?” posts

@butterfly2222 What you’re suggesting really doesn’t make much sense. And what you mentioned about adjusting calories seemed like an afterthought. You’re saying to not account for exercise when using a TDEE calculator, and also saying not to account for exercise energy expenditure based off...

Don’t feel guilty for eating over the holidays!

Eating around the holidays can cause a lot of anxiety and I want everyone to remember you’re allowed to indulge and enjoy yourself without feeling guilty!! Please don’t feel bad if you ate more than usual, or didn’t train because the gyms were closed, or didn’t have enough time to get your steps...

The answer to all the “why am I not losing weight?” posts

@butterfly2222 When calculating your TDEE you should not select sedentary unless you actually are sedentary. You failed to mention that you need to take into account the amount of exercise you conduct (not merely just an active job or walking a lot)- resistance training (weights/pilates etc)...

    Fitness is a bit lonely

@rang You’re not alone. But I would rather achieve my goals than do things that are popular which aren’t conducive to my goals merely to “fit in”. Just shows people really don’t know what goes on behind the scenes to gain muscle/strength

How do/did u stay motivated to workout ?

@nailed4us Discipline. Force yourself to do it, regardless of how you feel, for long enough it becomes a habit you don’t think twice about

Gym guy (60s) yells at me (27 F) in gym

@nickblack You did not deserve that at all and I’m so sorry that stupid man-child took his frustrations out on you. It says everything about him and nothing about you

Is intermediate fasting needed for weight loss? What time do u guys start/stop eating

@tendo You don’t have to do IF to lose weight. As long as you’re eating in a consistent calorie deficit you’re fine. I lost 7kg just from eating in a deficit, you don’t need to worry

    Apple Watch TDEE Accuracy?

@holly All devices that “measure” calories expended are inaccurate. It’s trying to measure internal mechanisms externally. I think it would be best for you to stop looking at the numbers all together, you’re clearly conducting a lot of activity

What did you do to lose weight?

@bunnylightheart All you need to do to lose weight is eat in a consistent calorie deficit for long enough that you lose the amount of weight you desire. Steps and exercise helps put you in a deeper deficit
