Because of my training, my clothes are starting to no longer fit

@mrmarkyboy Thank you for sharing this info! I'll try focusing more on shoulders because handstands are what I've been trying to work toward (I can do crow pretty stable but it's hard to get past that). I was also taking creatine because my husband said it helps with recovery... so maybe I don't...

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@kolosojr That’s a good point! I don’t think I do but I’ll ask my doctor about it! I’ve heard it’s more common than you’d think

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@kolosojr Hmm. It wouldn’t hurt to ask my doctors about hormones. I am on hormonal bc after I had a ton of problems on nexplanon and before that heavy and painful periods. For the last 6 months on bc I’ve skipped the placebo for 3 months at a time (at the advice of my gyno). But as you say...

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@kolosojr I’ll edit my post to clarify but it’s usually an average of 5 days a week working out and maybe 2 of those days are double classes (2 hours, but relatively low intensity). I could probably stand to drink a little bit more water. But I’m definitely eating fine, I’d say. Gained like 7...

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@tanujayawhite Well I definitely hope I’m not pregnant but it certainly wouldn’t hurt to check! Thanks!

Because of my training, my clothes are starting to no longer fit

@chandrika I was not trying to make any value judgment on anyone else but myself, so I apologize if it came off that way. This post was about me seeing a large jump in sizes in myself, and perhaps the mental implications of that, not about whether other people are capable of or not. We're all...

Because of my training, my clothes are starting to no longer fit

@orthogonalman Thank you for the suggestion! I'll be sure to ask my trainer about it. I know for now, certain things like deadlifts have very small reps (like maybe 4 reps at a time, but a few sets). I'm still learning about how all of this works so there's more to learn!

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@pristinegraceca Hmm, interesting point. It’s not like excessive soreness or anything (that was only the week or two I first started). It’s more like I’m getting sleepy and unmotivated. The type of exhaustion that makes you fall asleep rather than just veging out on the couch, if that makes...

Because of my training, my clothes are starting to no longer fit

@incenzo23 Oh wow, I've measured for bra sizes before but that is way more comprehensive. I'll give it a shot, thank you!

Because of my training, my clothes are starting to no longer fit

@dawn16 Thank you for your kind and supportive words! Perhaps once I hit a good enough baseline with my lifting I can stop the personal training and do my own thing. I will say that my trainer discovered some weaknesses I didn't realize I had, so it's been helpful!

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@brokentinkerbell Yes. I consistently get from 7-9 hours a night and generally wake up the same time every day (to feed my cats) so my sleep is pretty consistent.

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@lifeingrey Well I tried it many years ago for my mental health and it felt like it was helpful at the time. But that was also when I was living by myself. I don’t even try now because keto done badly is definitely worse. But I just generally don’t like eating a lot of pasta or bready foods...

Because of my training, my clothes are starting to no longer fit

@melissamae Ahh thank you for those recs! I have been trying some online stuff as well, if not just because certain viruses are at higher risk right now where I live, so if I don't have to go to the gym every day before the holidays, as that would be safer for everyone.

Because of my training, my clothes are starting to no longer fit

@melissamae Currently I do a combination of ashtanga, vinyasa, and pilates! But I am looking to switch to a studio instead of taking the classes at my local gym, because they're pretty easy for me (I was hoping I could save some money by getting both from the same membership!). I haven't heard...

Because of my training, my clothes are starting to no longer fit

@tanujayawhite That's fair! Maybe this is just a situation where an off-hand comment stuck with me more than it should have. And I might also just live in an area where smaller people are doing yoga, so maybe that further skewed my expectations. I'm not sure! But I definitely was not trying to...

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@worshiper1994 I don’t think I hit a wall often. More like toward the end of the hour session I’m tired and I’m hitting sets to near failure? That seems reasonable to me though. I don’t usually eat anything before. It’s probably an anxiety excuse because I had a bad experience puking before a...

@7circles Yes, it does! Thanks for sharing your story!

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@worshiper1994 I would say moderate to low carb. Not keto, though I used to be (hard to maintain, especially since my husband doesn’t like it). I very rarely eat starchy pastas or bready foods. If I eat carbs it’s usually from veggies or beans/legumes. I usually avoid sugar but I’ve had some...

Because of my training, my clothes are starting to no longer fit

@osvaldo Thank you for sharing this perspective! I like your system for deciding on what clothes to keep. It makes a lot of sense!

Getting super fatigued after personal training?

@dawn16 I like that idea, going to bed early as a sort of reward of relaxation!
