    Best way to increase conditioning

@godsloveforme Your stamina sucks because you are quite overweight. Option 2. You need to focus on option 2. Count calories and set a goal to lose 1 pound a week until you hit your target weight. Do a mix of cardio and resistance training that you enjoy 3-5 days week while on your weight...

How do you keep energised at work without surgery snacks when dieting?

@divinity3 This post is hilarious. “Surgery” snacks. “Demanding office work” I work in an office after years of busting my ass doing more physical work. Office work is so nice lol. It sounds to me like you need to space your calories out better. Are you eating breakfast? How often are you...

Struggling to workout these days. Any motivational tips?I am 33F

@cecgreenstein Just make it part of a routine. For some that means doing it first thing in the AM but I never liked that. Some extra motivation could be preworkout. If you drink preworkout you’ll have to workout or feel like shit. But once you establish a routine it becomes easier to maintain...

Early morning gym goers, with family, how do you balance going to bed early with time for your partner?

@eternum Yeah she works and goes to school so has the flexibility to workout between class and her job.

Early morning gym goers, with family, how do you balance going to bed early with time for your partner?

@dougnarg We could never make it work. The time we have together after the kids go to bed isn’t worth giving up to us. In theory it’s the “best” plan but in practice it never works. We just gym after work. I really liked gyming during my lunch break but I don’t think it has good optics. So I...

    Advice for Weightloss

@fibo777 Lol personal trainers are such a joke. You just need to track your food. Everything you eat. Eat at a deficit and you’ll lose weight. It’s very simple but takes hard work and consistency

Am I missing out if I dont squat ?

@tinamichael So many people don’t get this. Choosing to do something hard is like weight training for your mind. Your willpower needs reps too. I’m not saying people that choose not to squat are “weaker” mentally than those that do embrace the suck, but I’m not, not saying either.

    Is A-B required for PPL?

@revbillw No that sounds like a really stupid idea tbh

    Is A-B required for PPL?

@revbillw No. It was a full body program that you ran 3 times a week. So shoulder, chest, back, legs, calves done. Then 2 days later you do the exact same thing but with more weight or more reps depending on the lift.

    Is A-B required for PPL?

@revbillw One of my favorite programs is a single day you run 3 times a week. Like the exact exercises, same reps, number of sets, everything. It’s an awesome program and proved to me that variety is not needed to make huge progress. If anything consistency and specificity can provide huge...

Am I missing out if I dont squat ?

@jayaraj I’m a huge fan of the squat. I personally feel it translates better to actual day to day function, and is a full body lift in that if the load is appropriate it requires mental focus and full muscle activation from your finger tips to your toes. I don’t think leg press or hack squat...

    Is A-B required for PPL?

@sspx_teen How do they avoid overuse? Switch to cycling? Edit: I’m curious what insight you could provide as I’m a very experienced long distance competitor. Regularly cycled for hundreds of miles and regularly ran 50-100 miles a week when training for a race.

    5 consecutive days

@rootsrockreggae Yeah you’d probably be fine. I’ve done that in the past. Just don’t skip the deload weeks or you will grind to a halt.

    Is A-B required for PPL?

@learningasigo I think you should do some more research. Overuse injuries are not very well understood but one cause is lack of recovery. Not repetition. I mean think about it. If overuse was from doing the same movement over and over why would people not get more injured doing higher rep sets...

    5 consecutive days

@rootsrockreggae With your experience level you could probably be fine with a 4 day U/L split. https://rippedbody.com/novice-bodybuilding-program/ So it would look like RRRLULU. If you absolutely have to do a 5 day split here: This one is my favorite...

    Is A-B required for PPL?

@gr3mlin Typically, injuries are caused from poor technique and load management. I was curious to see if you had a specific study you were referencing. If we’re just talking anecdotes, I’ve never specifically experienced an overuse injury and I’ve done the same handful of exercises for years...
