A recap of my transition from running and cycling to kettlebell training

@nickodack69 Same for me and I've heard similar from a lot of runners. Recovery runs usual feel agonizingly slow. This article breaks down the benefits pretty well.

A recap of my transition from running and cycling to kettlebell training

@nickodack69 Gotcha, how hard are you pushing on your runs? It might help to make your post-KB training runs super easy recovery (about 60-90 seconds slower per mile than your usual pace).

Alternative exercises in RoP when you don’t have a pull-up bar

@squirrellover I did one-arm rows with the reps on each side matching the presses throughout the ladder. I also ran 1-2 times per week and would often stop at a nearby park to do some pull-ups.

@nickodack69 I think you can do both. If running is your priority, just make sure you don't push too hard during your kettlebell days. A recap of my transition from running and cycling to kettlebell training

@mrstbw Kettlebell training is my priority now, but I still like to run a couple of times a week for enjoyment. I'll probably hop into some 5Ks with friends once those are a thing again.

A recap of my transition from running and cycling to kettlebell training

@mrstbw That mileage would have been doable for S&S but a lot tougher with RoP and TTC. The light, medium, and heavy pressing days are essential to RoP, so I think I would have kept those and opted for running on my two variety days, with another run on an off day, and maybe a recovery run...

A recap of my transition from running and cycling to kettlebell training

@dawn16 I saw significant strength gains with RoP, so you might want to start that with 24kg and work toward 5 x (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) ladders. Once you're in a good spot with 24kg, you can invest in the 32kg for your test days and, eventually, use it as your primary bell when you're ready to step up...
