51m never been active. With no activity during covid I’m needing guidance. Need to try and turn it around

@steffi I would recommend that you consider visiting a doctor first, just to get a general checkup and find out how everything is working. If you are that prone to injury, there may be things you want to avoid doing at first, and a doctor can help you find that out. You also want to make sure...

    Tips for sustained energy/daily recovery?

@edmomillig I would suggest you get a full checkup if you haven't had one recently. Given that you are fifty I would also strongly recommend you get a colonoscopy. I'm not saying there's something wrong with you, I'm just suggesting this for everyone.

    Tips for sustained energy/daily recovery?

@jullie Yes, thank you for the reminder that it's called maintenance for a reason. Not every day has to be a record-breaking day. It's fine to do the bare minimum sometimes, or even most of the time.

Do I need to switch my routine up?

@teacup64 Are you tracking caloric intake? Weight loss starts there... And it's important to be accurate. If you're exercising that much and not losing weight, you must still be in a caloric surplus.

    I started walking again

@pinkrain Fantastic! Good for you. When I first started getting back into shape a couple of years ago, I started by walking a few miles every morning (I had to work up to it, which is the smart approach... it is so easy to overdo it in the early stages, then get injured, then take forced...

On the verge of 53 and working on building stamina & strength

@fizzywig Hi there, age 51 here, and right there with you. I've been doing CICO and a lot of cycling since March and have managed to drop nearly 50 pounds, much of it from the middle. But we don't really have any control over where the fat comes off from because everyone is going to be different...

    My first pull up (M/65)

@jullie I started with long hangs too. For anyone who wants to do pullups, this us a great way to start. Just hang from a bar as long as you can.

    BMI, body fat %, etc

@binbina In my opinion you should probably start by looking at nutrition and not just calories. Are you eating high fat food a lot? If so, change it up for higher protein and see if you get noticeable results. So, not less calories, just different calories. But I would also recommend tracking...

    What should I change now?

@atlantadad My two cents is to hire a good trainer! A few sessions will give you lots of good information and probably help prevent further injury. I can't really speak to your protein intake because I don't pay much attention to mine... I eat a ton of it but don't really track it.
