    I was promised endorphins

@romans5to8 How many calories are you averaging? I often feel this way when I’m too low. I’m 41, and definitely feel it when I’m not fueled properly!

How to keep motivated to workout daily when stuck in the 9-5 corporate cycle?

@abnerpublishing I work a Monday to Friday 9-5 with 3 kids still at home and in school There is NEVER enough time after work to make dinner, make lunches, walk the dog and get any sort of down time if we added gym. So my husband and I go to the gym at 4am. We lift til 5:30 or so, then home to...

    Has anyone tried reverse dieting?

@vireak Reverse diets are the way to do. At some point you can’t eat 1200 consistently because when you do stall you have no where healthy to go. This is why “diet” advice fails women. I reverse dieted and moved my maintenance from 1500 to 2100 while focusing on lifting heavy. Almost no...

5’3” ladies over 30, what are your maintenance calories and activity level?

@freds For around 6 months or so, the slower you do it the more stable your weight will stay while you do. You could also just go into an extended bulk too, take the opportunity to gain some strength and muscle while speeding up your metabolism. You could cap any weight gained at around 10-15lbs...

5’3” ladies over 30, what are your maintenance calories and activity level?

@stosa I often walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes or so after lifting, but often I don’t. My only real solid cardio is that one day per week. I’ll do elliptical mostly or incline walking.

Where to buy cute.. i feel cringe saying this.. “pump covers?”

@gorightgirl I personally buy the el-cheapo racer back tank tops from Walmart or Old Navy lol. They’re super loose fitting so they breath and hide the midsection if it’s something you’re not comfortable with. I don’t mind my arms showing, but not a fan of just wearing a sports bra. I spend the...

How do you pump yourself up to go hard?

@allthingsarebecomenew I think it’s more about discipline to be honest. If you’re waiting to start loving each workout and looking forward to them you’ll be waiting a while. More often than not I find it’s like punching a clock and getting it done. I definitely look forward to some of them. Even...

How do you pump yourself up to go hard?

@allthingsarebecomenew For me, I’ve always figured if I’m there, and made the effort to get there it’s a massive waste to half ass the work. I get up at 4am 6 days a week to work out so I’ll be damned if I’m going to not make that count.

any success stories with going from very skinny to bigger/stronger?

@elenabcde I have no idea why you got downvoted for this lol. It’s a really great benchmark!

I’m so burned out of calorie counting. Has anyone had success with taking a break?

@slant The longer you have been tracking too I find that you can eyeball things better. You know the food in a day and how it feels. So sometimes when I go off tracking I still think I’m pretty close give or take based just on eyeballing it.

any success stories with going from very skinny to bigger/stronger?

@mommybiker I tend toward 1g/lbs body weight as a minimum. Past that likely isn’t any more beneficial. I go higher than that because when I’m in a surplus to build I personally find I put on less fat when my surplus comes mostly from protein. There is a school of thought that says the body is...

any success stories with going from very skinny to bigger/stronger?

@cwngfd It’s going to take way longer. I started to see great results peeking through at 6 months. But after a year was the real magic. And I cannot stress enough that you NEED to be eating in a surplus and hitting your protein goals. Most people think that they eat enough protein and they...

I’m so burned out of calorie counting. Has anyone had success with taking a break?

@slant I have felt exactly the same way! Here’s what I do that works well for me: I count religiously Monday through Friday. Then I give myself a break Friday night through Sunday. I don’t binge. But I enjoy my food and I enjoy the break from counting. I mostly do this when bulking so that if...

To my 5’3 girls, what’s your maintenance calories?

@childofgod222 111lbs mid cut right now. Maintenance is 2200/2300. Lift 4 days a week, 1 day of cardio only and an office job. I get 8-10K steps per day.

Idk how ppl in this sub are able to do low cal w/ 100 g+ of protein daily and workout so rigorously- I’m struggling with 1700 cals😭

@dikaioumenoi I think if you cut out the protein bars you’ll have more room. At 300 a pop they aren’t worth it. Try Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, some cubed chicken or even cubed ham as a snack. That’ll give you another 150 calorie for dinner. Protein shakes can be ok, but look for ones that...

    Taking the L for Halloween

@monicachere I 100% ate the chocolate and pizza (work party) and have zero guilt. Today is a new day and I didn’t derail my body or my progress with one day. These events are going to happen in life and part of living a healthy life is enjoying them - that’s what makes health sustainable in the...
