Weekly Question Thread - Week of 10/1/2018

@axlewack Upright rows after lateral cable raises. Look at that muscle, the delt has 3 anatomical parts but actually it's 7 different parts. In lean individuals you can observe this. Of course all parts of the side delt do the same thing but they are activated differently at different angles...

10 Things I've learned in my almost 20 years of bodybuilding

@vibwms People take diuretics to hide steroid use in tests, it doesn't make you look better. I wouldn't even lower water intake in the week before a show, it makes no real difference and your body just adapts by pissing less and pulling more from your food. Except for making you feel like shit...

Is L-Citrulline better than beet juice for vascularity and the appearance of veins?

@grace2ann NOS isnt N2O. Besides "giving boost" the analogy doesn't hold up. It's just the messenger thing. In the muscle more blood is the main way it works. I never thought about the lung thing before to be honest.

Weekly Question Thread - Week of 10/1/2018

@sarange Depends on how advanced you are. I would do MV since that gives you more time for the focus and the resensitation effect from MV is probably better/the same than doing MAV. Beginners full body Intermediate full body Advanced intermediate upper and lower focus Advanced chest+back...

Is L-Citrulline better than beet juice for vascularity and the appearance of veins?

@grace2ann Have you seen fast n furious? They use NOS or nitrous oxide or N2O to boost their cars. NO is the chemical notation for nitric oxide. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitric_oxide In your vessel cells it's the messenger molecule to say "relax, dilate, let more blood through"...

Is L-Citrulline better than beet juice for vascularity and the appearance of veins?

@scpro It's about 0-10% more endurance. Especially later in the workout when sets become harder. Could sometimes give you 2 reps. It's especially useful for people who don't get enough NO and it's precursors in through diet. When you hear about garlic being healthy that's about 90% because of...

Weekly Question Thread - Week of 10/1/2018

@sarange After maybe 2 or 2.5 hours. After 30 hard sets (varies from person to person) you are grinding out sets and will hate every minute of it. You will give up because of that first. If not then after enough time you will reach a point where your hormones will switch from anabolic to...

Weekly Question Thread - Week of 10/1/2018

@sarange What exactly do you mean? If you are talking asking about a maximum of exercises you can do per workout then definitely, there also is one for every day (you could be doing 2 workouts) But it's mostly governed by your endurance and conditioning. If your sessions are too hard take a...

    Am I working out wrong? .... 22y/o - 5'8" - 147 Lb

@mamajaiy Cable cross overs are a compound exercise, hammer press is a compound exercise. You probably did not mean compound but machine stuff - The same people who bash machines are the ones who use barbells, which is the second most stable form of an exercise variation, dumbells and dumbells...

Question thread for our AMA with Dr. Brandon M Roberts and Dr. Peter J Fitschen starting Wednesday April 15th!

@paparazi257 Does stuff like Huel work? It's just powder with the needed macros and micros. Sure it tastes disgusting and takes the whole biting enjoyment out of food but from a health perspective or a bodybuilding perspective is it really worse than real food and how much? Also shouldn't I be...

    Am I working out wrong? .... 22y/o - 5'8" - 147 Lb

@mamajaiy You probably don't respond well to the low rep range. Use another one. Work closely to muscle failure 2 reps at all working sets. Do a program that let's you do more weekly sets. Do more isolation work. For example try out cable cross overs to failure and compare if you are feeling...
