    I don't understand S&S strength standards

@nikknakk SS would be Starting Strength, though it's not usually talked about in /r/kettlebell.

[QUESTION] initial weight for a 15y/o

@donstookeerek Seems like pretty much what I expected. Though from reading sports science commentary from people like Greg Nuckols, most of the time it is very important to know who exactly were studied and how.

[QUESTION] initial weight for a 15y/o

@donstookeerek That's a myth that it would do so and not true. I'm sure /r/Fitness is full of explanations on why it is false.

[QUESTION] initial weight for a 15y/o

@dqgg Why? That makes no sense.

[QUESTION] initial weight for a 15y/o

@justg Frankly that is mad slow. The drills for a month? That's like after surgery recovery time. S&S is a good start, though Dan John wants kids to do a bit of everything. They need to try out things. So yeah, swings, getups, but crawling, pullups, whatever the recommended routine at...

[QUESTION] initial weight for a 15y/o

@justg Weight, regardless of age, depends on a) your fitness, b) your skill, and c) what you want to do with the kettlebell. 8 or 12 lg is probably a good starting point but teens should grow fast.

Best Plate Loaded Pin for 2 Hand KB Swings?

@jesuslover57 A competition bell is designed for one hand use though regular bells' handles might also not be wide enough for pinkies.

    I don't understand S&S strength standards

@khohanguc By tradition of sorts, the milestone weights with kettlebells are the 32 and the 48. Mainly, I think, because the 32 is the heaviest of the "normals" and then the 48 is the heaviest of the heavy (even though you can buy even heavier bells, up to 92 kg). It's not a fair standard, nor...

    High Blood Pressure from KB’s

@jimpncc You might try to reach mr Zonin and discuss your findings with him. And also perhaps switch programs to see if programming is the cause or related.

Just finished the 10k swing challenge

@dawn16 Sure. I am not saying OP did anything wrong. Just that if you choose a boring protocol, it will be more boring that one with some variety.

Just finished the 10k swing challenge

@xlion It is hard. Just like doing 10 singles can be hard to count.

    Question from a russian dude

@sk213 So, what are your ideas for the exercises? I guess you haven't been following kettlebell lifting in Russia much since your school days since all kettlebell sport and its masters come from Russia and they certainly use double bells for for example double jerks which is a competition...

Just finished the 10k swing challenge

    @xlion Which is why Dan recommends 10, 15, 25, 50 or 15, 35, 15, 35 (if 50 is too much).

S&S question. 5 minutes for swings or 1:1 rest?

@webtest88 No, you should not do shadow swings in the time test. The 1:1 is not the goal, not the test. You have 30 s per 10 swings and you rest whatever time there is left over. It is not a lot, but it is what it is.

S&S question. 5 minutes for swings or 1:1 rest?

@dawn16 S&S does work for a longer time too. The point of "Everything works for 4-6 weeks" is that even bad programs work for 4-6 weeks. And from that we can derive that we should do a program for a longer time than that to know if it is a good one, and also that we won't mess up too bad with...

Day 1 of 10000 Kettlebell swing challenge

@alohaisu So you are using your own set/rep scheme? Those long sets are part of the challenge, be it the 10-15-25-50 or the 15-35-15-35 scheme. Edit: not saying that 10k swings in 20 days isn't a challenge, because it is, but it's not the 10k challenge.

S&S question. 5 minutes for swings or 1:1 rest?

@edification Ok. Just as long as you are aware that longer sets do not equal heavier sets. And that rest makes a difference in the effects you get. Resting between sets is crucial for the antiglycotic part of S&S. But I do understand that if you have very limited time, it is hard to justify...

Day 1 of 10000 Kettlebell swing challenge

@shivani0010 Well, Simple & Sinister is really the most easily available strength program. But there's all kinds of alternatives: Eg. Dan Martin Program Minimum.

S&S question. 5 minutes for swings or 1:1 rest?

@edification Seems like you should have moved up in weight. Why are you doing 20 rep sets instead?

S&S question. 5 minutes for swings or 1:1 rest?

@lostandfound2000 The time test goal is 5 minutes. Forget 1:1, it is not an exact thing like you noticed. And I don't even recall numerous mentions of 1:1.
