Working out, work, and life balance

@ilovemyfather Start work at 7. Work out at 2-3:30 then work late. Everyone has a different time that works best for them, mine is apparently when most people crash in the middle of the afternoon. You just need to play around with the timing. Meal prep, this reduces responsibilities leaving...

Working out with babies requires sacrifice from the entire family

@redeemedsinner Just had my third kid, and I’m struggling too. You’d think I’d know how to handle this by now but alas here we are. Life happens. Last month I don’t think I made the gym but three times due to a double ear and eye infection in the baby that put her out of daycare for a whole...

Why don't men hire health coaches as much as women?

@gm0nkx I hired one specifically for Olympic lifting when was younger. Am considering it again for a refresher. I also hired one that had certifications for post injury rehab following PT. (Can’t remember the cert title) I have hired nutritionists on two occasions. One didn’t work well and...

What are the best adjustable dumbbells for home use?

@tabularasa I also have core and I maxed out in less than a year. I’ve also had to submit two warranty claims but they’ve been awesome with their response and quick shipment. If I could go back I’d buy the nuobells.

    Dealing with tired

@rakesh14021983 You’re tired because you drastically changed your lifestyle. 5 days of hiit is too much, weight train full body only 3 days a week and cardio 3 days a week but even that for a beginner is too much because you risk burning yourself out too fast. I’d suggest lowering it.

Having a hard time getting back into it..

@surayray15 Everyone starts or restarts somewhere. Yes, you should always do cardio. Being a nurse, thought you would’ve known that by having great cardiovascular health your body has the potential to build more muscle vs if you didn’t. I’d start by doing a full body routine 2 days a week...

What do you do when you miss a workout?

@mdhess Recommend numbering or lettering your workouts (A, B, C, etc.) makes tracking more simple. Mine are structured 1-6, an upper/lower split broke out by barbells and dumbbells days across three phases. The program itself is maps split. I’ve also done 5/3/1, bill star 5x5, and others. The...

    Rate my [improved] plan!

@broken649 It’s similar to a 5x5 routine in which a lot of people will complain of shoulder and or joint issues after a few months of progressively loading the weight. Seeing as you’re over 40, you may want to consider a c workout where you’re more higher reps think 15+ with less weight...
