Can you make good gains with like 6-7 hours of sleep as a beginner?

@wishwish55 Don't stress yourself about sleep, it will only make you sleep worse. Try to fit a nap (20 minutes max) into your day.

Working out, work, and life balance

@ilovemyfather I consider work and workouts essential parts of my life, so there's not much of a conflict there.

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@greg67 You are very welcome. I acknowledge anyone who goes through the pull up hardships with me :-). It's a killer exercise, but there's no other one that makes me feel quite as great as they do.

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@greg67 I am not doing this on a scientific basis of any kind but actually I have gone over to cycling between weighted and unweighted pull ups as well as different grips. If you can do 3x8 unweighted, you should be able to do 3x5 or so with an extra 5kg. If not, try 2.5 kg. And personally, I...

I‘m tired of not getting better at pull-ups

@greg67 I think they meant weighted pull ups. Just hold a 5kg barbell or bag between your legs while doing a pull up. When you can do 3x8 of those, increase the weight. Believe me, the looks of sheer disbelief on the other gym goers' faces alone will be worth the effort.

Big Bar vs Fit! Home Gym vs power tower (BEGINNER)

@newdiscoveries As a beginner, I highly recommend a pair of rings with a door anchor. You can do a lot of exercises with that for under 50 bucks and by the time you are ready for advanced exercises you will probably have figured out where you can hang them.

    pull-up advice

@kyrani I'm not trying to be funny. I'm trying to convey to you that I'll gladly admit I'm wrong when shown proof (including measurements). What you showed me instead was a video of a guy claimining you don't lift your forearms in a dip, which is true but neglects the fact that your forearms lie...

Can you reach effective hypertrophy in the 3-5 rep range with weighted Calisthenics?

@jerseygirl1 I second this. I am always wondering how people do about as many dips as pull ups. Dips have always been a lot easier to me, usually I can do twice as many dips as pull ups with the same weight added.

    Stuck on 7 pull-ups forever

@childofgod49 I struggled on my way to 10 for quite a while, and I believe it has a lot to do with a mental blockade. You think you won't get past 7, so you start feeling heavy around the 6th pull up. What helped me was doing chin ups and neutral grip pull ups, alternating grips between...

    pull-up advice

@kyrani Regardless of whether it's true or not, referring to a 20 second YouTube short that doesn't even include measurements as "actual science" is a lot funnier than my comment.
