Why your homebrew routine is (probably) bad

@daveisonthisforum i can empathize. i was getting a consistent 2 pound loss per week. i hit the calorie floor and had to add cardio. i decided walking was for me. i built up my ability to walk distance up to 9 to 12 miles/day or around 50 miles a week. my weight loss was still stalled. imagine...

Why your homebrew routine is (probably) bad

@amcelveen09 you are more likely to be misled by fluctuations if you only weight weekly...because you have no idea if thats your true weight, or the spike or the valley. weighing daily eliminates this. you see the rolling 7 day average and know exactly which data points are the outliers.

Why your homebrew routine is (probably) bad

@terrydg7 weighing in will not do that. having the wrong mindset will. more data is just more data. it will, but the only way to know whats a fluke or not is to know your 7/15/30/90 day trends, and look at rolling averages. if you only weigh in weekly, you have no way to know if its a fluke...

Why your homebrew routine is (probably) bad

@kerrylog i agree with you on #2. for most people, a higher max and a better aethstetic is probably their goal, so fewer reps may be desireable.... ...but some people do have valid reasons to train for endurance. for example: some sports may require only x amount of strength, but many...

Cool, basic outdoor gym area near my house; Is it enough!?

@jharrod84 100% i would recommend getting a set of gym rings. throw them in a backpack, and your good to go. one thing... you want to avoid cardio before workouts. either drive to this location, or biking is probably fine, but do it chill. dont exert a ton of effort and get all huffy puffy...

Can 3 days in the gym be good enough?

@luin31 for muscle growth, ideal volume is between 10-20 sets per week. for upper body, 10 sets in one workout is probably not realistic. the latter half of sets would probably be wasted volume, due to excess fatigue, poor form, etc. 3 days per week is fine, but i would just do some kind of...

Doing a lot of sports, but I don’t feel very fit/endurance is trash?

@roland7777 thats too much activity. just for workouts, its recommended to workout 3 or times a week and rst 3 or 4 times a week. each of your sports is equivalent to a workout. your doing something like 10 workouts just from sports, PE, and thats not even including any workouts yet.
