    Mod Post: The Ideal Gym

@lionessofchrist There was a guy who used to scream-grunt as loud as he could at my last gym. You're at home! Make all the noise you want. He was in public and I was embarrassed for him.

I hate to say it…all of the pull-up advice on this sub is 100% correct

@gail1954 Torture yourself like I do: do some negatives as a warmup!

Workout Equipment You Love vs. Never Use

@robertmichel73 Ohhhh you know it! Shellin' it out on this one! I want people to walk into my damp basement and think "Damn, is that a $17 clock? Shiiiiit."

Workout Equipment You Love vs. Never Use

@robertmichel73 That's what I was thinking! Might splurge and get a big digital clock though :)

Workout Equipment You Love vs. Never Use

@beckydolphingurl Yeah, we've tried the apps and just setting interval timers on our phones but it's just so finicky and clumsy when you're doing sets. I think just getting a clock with a second display would work better for us.

I [F/26] successfully walked 100,000 steps in ONE day!

@jdphlippy 30k is still something to write home about! That's a lot of steps! I love hearing that Paris has the same effect on other people-- it's a city that's just so wonderful to meander around in on foot.

Workout Equipment You Love vs. Never Use

@rsdar We're mostly doing sets of exercises that have us doing things for 30 seconds to 1 minute. A kitchen timer would be great for longer intervals, but I want something I never have to set!

Workout Equipment You Love vs. Never Use

@robertmichel73 Ohhhh a timer/clock is a genius idea. We've been setting timers on a Google Home, and it's really annoying when you just need a thirty second timer. I don't know why it never occurred to me to just buy a standalone clock with a second feature...

I [F/26] successfully walked 100,000 steps in ONE day!

@lestime My personal best is about 45k in one day, on a holiday in Paris. The idea of doing 100k is just unthinkable to me. My feet hurt so much after 45k!

I can’t even do a wall push. Not even one

@graymike91 I workout regularly and have a generally strong core, and barre kicked my ass. It was so hard! It might be a little overwhelming for someone who struggles with core strength, and it might be easy to get discouraged. That said, I found the instructors to be really encouraging and...

Workout Equipment You Love vs. Never Use

@hebahesh Love and most used: Power rack with pull-up bar. We use this every workout, and it's awesome. Bumper plates, bar, etc. Adjustable dumbbells. Really convenient for our small home gym. Kettlebell. Adjustable bench. It's mediocre for most things, but I'd rather have one thing that's...

    Squat form check please :)

@arealwomanalwyz Confidence! Your form isn't shit or bad--it just needs a couple little tweaks here and there. You're well on your way to an excellent squat.

I’ve lost 80 lbs, and started resistance training about 3 months ago. The difference since beginning to lift weights astounds me!

@1astrokiid1 It took me 6+ months to get to the point where jogging for more than a minute or two was tolerable, much less enjoyable. By the time I finished C25K, the 30 minute mark was feeling okay, and I looked forward to running. That took the better part of a year! Running/walking interval...
