What explanation could there be for simultaneous regression/stagnation on lower rep(4-6) and progression on higher rep(7-12) ranges?

@cheapphenonline I agree with most of the other feedback, but one thing I didn't see mentioned was proper warmup. Even when I'm doing, for example, 4 sets at the same weight, the first set is often harder than the 2nd and 3rd set because my body was still getting primed and ready to lift heavy...

Are weighted pull ups even worth it?

@vinod367 I stop counting once I can't get my chin past the bar, but I still do another 2-4 partial reps. I just don't log the partials or use them for deciding when to increase the weight, but I feel like they help with progression. I do the exact same thing with lat pulldowns.

What do you prioritize when you don’t have much time?

@blueskies88 First off, this is micro optimization and it really doesn't matter much what you do on a single day especially if you were close to your goals. Second, why can't you do more than one? Say you need 20g of protein and 300 kcal, you could eat yogurt or a whey shake or something light...

    Progression rant

@purpleflower2 They are the things that catch the barbell to prevent it from falling and crushing you. For example, https://repfitness.com/products/pin-pipe-safeties There are 3 main variations: safety pins, spotter arms, and safety straps. They have pros and cons, but they let you bench and...

    Progression rant

@katy89 You have a rack at home but no safety pins? Because you said you could have got another rep with a spotter. Just buy some safety pins. They are under $100 and you don't have to worry about failing to get that last rep.

What is your favorite MAG grip for lat pulldown?

@blondie977 I like most of them TBH, but they are too expensive. Get a knock off from Amazon or Walmart or maybe even just get the Kensui swissie grips instead.

What is your favorite MAG grip for lat pulldown?

@sashacat I use straps as well, but you don't need straps with the mag grips. They really do a good job taking grip strength out of the equation.

Been training for years and on the verge of giving up due to lack of progress, what should I do?

@barefoothannahb Following those programs and focusing on the weight is a good way to progress on strength, which is a really good proxy for building muscle. The thing is it's not exactly the same thing. I can relate to using the weight as motivation, but what I've kind of settled into is only...

Need help deciding between t-bar row (v-grip), close grip barbell row, or smith machine close grip barbell row for lats

@blondie977 Watch the Meadows video on Meadows rows. He explains how you can adjust your feet position to make it more upper back (less distance from your grip hand) or more lats (further away from your grip hand). Like DB rows, and most back exercises, it's pretty versatile.

Switching from 6 day ppl to 5 day split?

@chris77777 Do you have to fit your training program into 7 days? Seems like you were already into something that works for you, but feeling like you were cramming too much into one week. How about just stretching that week out into 8 or 9 days and give yourself a little more time to rest? Since...
