Will 50 pushups a day make a noticeable difference?

@omadaze We are not seeking to induce a strength adaptation. See above: In fact, a quick trip to the 1RM calculator shows that his calculated max bench (using a 34kg bench as stand-in for his 33.92kg pushup) is 45kg. As I reiterate, it's not a strength adaptation. See the bit in italics...

    Women’s vs men’s barbell

@janehenry C'mon, there are limits. I'm 6'2" with XL hands but asking me to hook grip an axle bar would be unreasonable. As a small-handed woman, OP's hand-to-bar ratio is probably not different from that.

Will 50 pushups a day make a noticeable difference?

@omadaze Because this is r/BodyweightFitness and we’re here to discuss bodyweight fitness. Don’t insult others when you don’t know what you’re talking about; 100 push-ups per day is not a “stupid amount” and will certainly not cause overuse injury. Neither will 200. Source: I’m an actual...

Is Kattlebell Swing a Resistance training or a Cardio?

@wakemantk I feel like a livestream is probably going to fail over the course of however long a workout like this takes. Not sure how "total reps" would work when that's set as part of the workout; let's just do 500/500 for time, partitioned as you like. Also, it's hilarious that this whole...

Is Kattlebell Swing a Resistance training or a Cardio?

@wakemantk Oh, hon, if you thought volume was the way to beat me you didnt do your research. Sure, I’ve got a 28 here. I don’t mind which version of the burpee we do, post your video and I’ll base my reps off whatever you choose. How’re we scoring this? For time, with r/kettlebell to decide if...

Is Kattlebell Swing a Resistance training or a Cardio?

@choseninhim I'm betting that "people who spend their lives whinging about other people's form turn out not to be very fit"

Is Kattlebell Swing a Resistance training or a Cardio?

@wakemantk Go on, post anything at all, I’ll beat you with equal or better form

What separates the elite from the rest

@1cor15 Did I say I was doing that? Some days I do metcons, some days I lift heavy, some days I hike or swim or run or ruck. The caloric burn is generally higher on the low-CNS days. It's really unfortunate that so many people in the CrossFit subreddit now don't understand the concept of...

What separates the elite from the rest

@casey73 Orrrrrrr, wait for it, my body will adapt to the requirements I’m putting on it. This isn’t my first day doing this. I’m over five years into it, and the only days I’ve had off would be the time I had a stomach illness - under five days total. I’m also a strength and conditioning...

What separates the elite from the rest

@jameszo Are you reading someone else's comment, but replying to mine? Did I say that? There are different types of training. Today I'm going flatstick. I've got metcons this morning and I'm doing Fran this afternoon. Yes, that's really hard on my CNS. Tomorrow I'm going to sit my ass down on...

What separates the elite from the rest

@1cor15 If the people doing that are stronger and fitter than you, with better biological markers of health, what’s your basis for making the above claim? I recover when I sleep. I recover when I’m not training. I’m not an elite athlete, but I do not need days off, and I haven’t for years...

    1MP - 1 Million Push-Up Challenge (50k update)

@xjohnson I’ve done up to 1500 burpees in a day and strongly suggest not doing volume burpees regularly. Still love burpees, I still average 200 a day, but at high volumes they really get you in the wrists and elbows.

Going to a regular weightlifting gym ?

@nikkimarie You will be fine. The whole objective of CF is to increase your work capacity; this means that you can do more stuff and recover from it. Frankly, your recovery capacity would be greater than that of a pure weightlifter of similar experience to yourself.

Will 50 pushups a day make a noticeable difference?

@omadaze See my other reply to you. What you are saying is uninformed, unhelpful and just plain incorrect.

    CrossFit burnout?

@bonlin Constantly varied doesn't always mean metcons. As coaches, we tend to limit CF to things we can provide for our members with the resources and facilities we have, but that's not necessarily the whole story. Personally, I like changing what I do every so often. It's summer here and I've...

Will 50 pushups a day make a noticeable difference?

@omadaze That’s literally the whole point of the thread. And yes, getting 50/day will help, for a novice trainee like OP.
