    @sharkbait13 You might want to spend a little more time under the bar before you try to reinvent the wheel. There is a reason many if us build our routines around the big four.

    Strength training vs running for fat loss?

    @pero Strength training will develop your cardio better than cardio will develop your strength. I see no reason to go either/or between the two, but for me strength training always comes first. Also remember that muscles burn fat but running is pretty indiscriminate as to what it burns for fuel.

    Risk v reward

    @ttcmacro You can mitigate a lot of the risk by moving to front squats (lower weights and pretty much impossible to cheat through with poor form) and trapbar deadlifts (less sheer force on the spine).
