    Mod Post: The Ideal Gym

@ewcia6000 This sounds so fun, and I really hope I get the opportunity to make one! It would be fun for everyone! I need it to be safe to have a mermaid themed birthday party ASAP (maybe next summer lol). I played underwater hockey for 6ish years and am pretty used to full sized fins. I think...

Comprehensive lululemon Legging Guide for an Ex-Employee

@silkybunny I adore my Train Times. I’ve been outdoor running in them for about three years - they’re just now starting to show a few signs of wear (basically, a string on the butt seam. One string.) I’m replacing them a Speed Up that survived their first long run as a taper before this half...

What percent of your income goes towards fitness?

@christian2011 I will not be calculating what I spend on race entries, shoes, and gels per year. But I race usually two half marathons, so roughly $150 ($300 if it’s a Disney race lmao), 3 pairs of shoes a year, and a strength gym membership.

What’s your optimal workout time(s) and what time do you actually do it?

@hungry_hungry_hippo I workout best at about 3:30 pm. Which is when I finish my work for the day so it works out very well for me. But in the summer I run at 5:30 AM to avoid the heat and I do not enjoy any aspect of it.

Tips for working out first thing in the morning?

@brinmat Same! I like them so much better than the goopy gels.

Tips for working out first thing in the morning?

@kingshellie I can’t work out fasted. Full stop. I had to get carbohydrate gummies (like clif bar shot bloks) to eat before a morning workout. It balances getting enough in my stomach to ease the shaky feeling but I don’t get nausea from my stomach being full. Unfortunately I’m an early bird...

Mixing classes (I.e Orangetheory, boxing, spinning) with lifting?

@maria37 Chiming in with seconding r/orangetheory as a helpful resource. I have been going to OTF for almost 2 years now. I do distance running and OTF, with some random sports thrown in a few days a week. I don’t lift, so I can’t speak to that. Balancing all my workout plans is very...

Why am I so bad at running, but do well in other cardio related activities?

@kmar123 I want to echo what everyone else has said - running can really only be trained for by running, especially a marathon. I picked up running in 2018 in my late 20s and have run two marathons since. I’m from a place where 10C is a nice warm run this time of year, so my perspective is...

What are your non scale goals for July/august?

@uticus I want to get my running base back up to a consistent 4x/week, with my goal being 15 mpw at least. Continue lifting heavy (barbells and dumbbells) at least once a week and Pilates 2x/week. Grocery shop every Sunday/Monday to set the week up for success.

I’m going back to the office. How did I workout before work again?!

@1950princess Some gyms I’ve been to have this rule, especially in northern winters when the snow/salt/sand could get tracked in.
