My box is setting up an “800 g Challenge”. Any anecdotes about participating or info about effects?

@diggitle Thanks for the report. Getting people to be genuinely mindful and accountable (scale, tracking, macro awareness) about their nutrition is a good thing, no doubt. Have you and your wife noticed any health or performance benefits from making this change?

@little_sparrow Thanks for the report. I agree that the guidance is straightforward (and appreciate the emphasis that processed/fried foods don't count.) I"m curious whether you have noticed any health of performance benefits?

My box is setting up an “800 g Challenge”. Any anecdotes about participating or info about effects?

@lapidarius Thanks for the report. I don't doubt that it's attainable, I'm just wondering if the effects live up to the hype. I understand the concept was developed based on published observations of diet and longevity, but like a lot of nutritional advice it got pretty fuzzy in the...

My box is setting up an “800 g Challenge”. Any anecdotes about participating or info about effects?

@sagat4 Not a surprise, lol! Note to self, prop the door open during squats. Did you feel like you experienced any health or performance benefits? A month isn't too terribly a long time, but I'm curious. Are you planning to keep it up?

@genuinelynot87 Thanks for the report. I'm guessing that you stopped after a week because it didn't feel sustainable?

Overview of the 800 g challenge is here: https://optimizemenutrition.files.wordpress.com/2018/03/800gchallenge_onesheet.pdf Basically, the premise is to eat 800 g of fruits and vegetables each day for 30 days—no other dietary limitations. A little googling turns up that this originated in the...
