Is 2-3 minutes between sets too long? I keep getting rude looks from guys at the gym..

@acer621 Thank you, 20-25 minutes is how long it usually takes me including my warmup for squats, bench, and deadlifts. It is just surprising to see others lift their bodyweight and then some and go right back at it a minute to 90 seconds later.

Is 2-3 minutes between sets too long? I keep getting rude looks from guys at the gym..

@gigatt18 I wouldn't say I am lifting light. I'm 3 months in at 134 lbs and squat 125 lbs for 9 reps today after doing 120 lbs for two sets of 9 reps before that. Progressing more quickly than that caused some hip and knee pain so I'm really trying to focus on perfecting form before moving up in...

What can I do when I’m young to keep healthy when I’m older?

@dawn16 Yup, my 80 year old Italian grandmother still insists on walking, stretching, and gardening any day that her arthritis is not too bad. She insists that the end she stops moving will be the day she dies.

My programming says rest around 2 minutes between sets for isolation and 3-4 minutes between compound lift sets. I'm eating at a deficit right now and so those times work well for me since I find I can do lifts more effectively. I am also lifting heavy and aiming for preservation of muscle mass...

For those of you meal prepping and sick of having rice as your carb base, try farro (170 calories, 5 g fiber, 7 g protein)

Almost all grains (and quinoa) come out to the same amount of calories per 1/4 cup dry. Usually 150-170 calories. After meal prepping for over a year, I have officially gotten tired of rice as my go to base for meals. Normal white rice, jasmine, basmati, brown, wild, I am sick of it. My biggest...
