@manihanery Definitely suggest if you're having saddle trouble / bum pain go to a shop and get fitted. They'll sit you on a weird gel chair and recommend the exact width saddle to match up with your anatomy. A+++ do recommend. Edit: I'm currently posting from my bike/ trainer with a well fitted...

@1970jennifer I tool around down the shops in trainers over my Shimano SPDs and it's not too traumatic, depends on the overall pedal shape I think.

    Calling all cyclists!

@dawn16 So glad I decided to add in a little beginner intro! When I first started out I found all these forum posts that were packed with experienced riders and I had so many stupid questions that just felt dumb to ask. Cycling is such a satisfying sport/leisure pastime and more people should be...

    Calling all cyclists!

@yundong0329 I can do up to around 20k in non padded shorts but a lot of it is rider position (this is where my OP rider bias came in) - I have a very aggressive drop which puts the pelvic tilt in a way where if I relax my core AT ALL I vanish into the pain cave. There's a lot of personal...

@twinmama Second tailwind. I'm off carbs at the mo for diet reasons so I'm on Nuun but two bottles of tailwind and a couple gels will do me an imperial century.

@terryrose That's awesome. I've had a couple of comfort ride bikes and I've always tried really hard to love them because the chill vibe is stellar but I just don't find them comfortable for more than around a half hour. Always nice to hear an opposing side!

@jm001 I love the vibe of recumbents and have always wanted to try one but I am TERRIFIED of tooling around feet first for some reason. Does it take some getting used to?

    Calling all cyclists!

@yundong0329 Not a fan of panniers after a pannier related accident, probably handlebar ones or I think there's ones that go under the saddle? Just looking to carry extra kit like tools, change of clothes probably, snacks, cans of beer because I'm a waste of space, etc. I normally have a...

@yundong0329 Tell me about the best on-bike bags please! I'm looking to do more longer multiday rides but there are so many different stuff options it's really overwhelming!!

@reyandrei I compensate with a shit load of chamois cream and persistence. This is definitely an excellent idea though!

@dawn16 DEFINITELY AGREE. I used to be really funny about it but had to switch as mileage increased and commando is 100% the way to go

    Calling all cyclists!

@nawiri Hello, you are probably correct and I am highly biased towards road race bikes. I've tried comfort bikes and they don't agree with me, so I mostly stole a bit about them that I agreed with from the internet. If you think they can be better described then please share and I will update the OP

    Calling all cyclists!

Topic of the week - Cycling! You are probably going to notice a bit of a bias in this post, as while I've been riding ~10 years now and varied across road/comfort/mountain bikes I am predominantly a road cyclist, because I gotta go fast, on tarmac, wearing skin-tight clothing (don't judge me)...
