@charliess Nope, I pretty much just watched youtube videos and practiced every day. I didn't even find this sub until I had already gotten the handstand. :)

@notsure It probably should be, but like I said I'm a noob so my form is probably terrible. At this point I'm just happy I can do it, next is working on form.

@manju13 I think it was a "gun gripe" video from the IV8888 channel on youtube. :)

@gigglingmonster Working on that next. I have the strength, it's just the movement that I need to work on. Problem is, literally yesterday I somehow hurt my shoulder. Lots of pain in my rotator cuff. Guess I'll be taking at least a few days off again which is frustrating to say the least. I'll...

@profsanctvs Nothing, really. I work out a lot, so I had the strength already. But as far as bodyweight movements, I basically started at square one.

@usaoutlaw Thanks man! I practiced a lot, at least an hour every day - and I had my wife there to help. She definitely gave me a few pointers.

@jataylo Believe it or not, 2017 is actually what I meant. The very first day in my whole life that I even attempted a handstand was January 9th 2017. I've recorded myself at least every other day of attempting it. Went from a wobbly ass headstand to a reasonably solid handstand in less than a...

@ariel2420 Haha nice! Go try them! They are really fun, seriously. More fun that you'd think it could be just doing something like standing on your hands. :)

@dawn16 I can relate with that! What I did was start on carpet with a bunch of blankets and pillows in front of me in case I fell.....which I did a lot. Haha. Once I built up the confidence to bail out safely I started doing them on hard floors. When I over rotate I just pivot my body and land...

@michelebolduc1 Definitely faced mental barriers, you just have to get comfortable with the idea of over rotating. The only way to get comfortable is to practice bailing out of it. Honestly, you don't need to practice though. It's such a natural movement that I really think you will do it...

@von20207777 Thanks! I've worked really hard on opening up my shoulder angle, still needs work but it's light years ahead of where I started. I will work on getting my line straighter for sure though!

@von20207777 That's a good ratio! I'm still not very consistent. Maybe 6/10 times I kick up I actually get into a good balance. Hoping that with some more practice I can just kick up into a long handstand on the first try.

@dawn16 Hollow body holds (check out youtube for explanation), hand walk outs (again check out youtube), L sits, and planks. Hope this helps!

@businessphonesystem Thanks man, really. :) (what follows is copied and pasted from another comment, someone asked pretty much exactly what you did) I spend probably 10 minutes warming up. Getting my wrists/shoulders loose. Then when I still lacked a little confidence I'd do wall stands for...

@watergal Thanks man, but don't give up. Not sure how much you practice, but I was/am putting in about an hour every day just getting the repetitions in. Definitely look on youtube for some of the tutorials out there, they all help! I'd say I got at least one good piece of info from each video I...

Just wanted to say thanks to this forum, and the wealth of information that lies within it. I've always been active, a gym rat, but recently I decided I was tired of not being able to do some of these cool bodyweight activities that a lot of people can do. So on January 8th, I decided to start...
