Where I was at 58, where I am now at 62, it's been around 5 years (or close enough)

@jocelyn1988 I'm so happy for you! I agree, I've made white processed sugar and high fructose corn syrup and processed foods and fast food into allergies in my mind: "I can't eat that, it makes me sick". If I'm pressed at a dinner or whatever it's what I say. Because it did make me sick, it...

Where I was at 58, where I am now at 62, it's been around 5 years (or close enough)

@bfg33 It certainly improved my liver, weight loss. I know the weight loss becomes much harder the closer to goal weight you are, I see my husband battle with it and he's 20 lbs overweight and wants it gone. I love hiking and backpacking, haven't really been able to do that since my early teens...

Need advice with lifting during weight loss

@dawn16 I moved the heavy lifting to my goal list along with other goals, like getting to 175 lbs or less so I can ride a horse again and not hurt the horse and getting on roller skates again because I love them and I don't care how old I am - whether age allows me to or not when I get there...

Where I was at 58, where I am now at 62, it's been around 5 years (or close enough)

@atlantadad Thank you, you're so sweet. My husband tells me that. :) I don't always see it. I see, you know, the wrinkles and the skin and I have to stop and realize how very lucky I am that I've managed to escape all this with my health largely intact. I used to have pretty severe fatty liver...

@sands7 I'm so glad it helps, wishing you much luck on your path! You've got this, you can absolutely change. Start small and pick something you can do without for a couple of weeks, then when you've done that and you're ok with it add something else. Don't worry about a timeline or anything...

Need advice with lifting during weight loss

@laditori I was really frank with her, explained my goals, asked her to look at my squat and tell me what I needed to work on. We spent about 45 minutes together and she gave me really useful tips. I already changed my routine today, dropped the weights back and dialed up the reps/intensity. I'm...

Need advice with lifting during weight loss

@bfg33 Right? I know not everyone gets it but I like what I eat, it took me awhile to get the balance with the protein and I've eaten all my life, I'm not missing anything.

@hanspeter You are so welcome! I hope it helps people. I think we get stuck in this place sometimes where we're convinced change is impossible and that's hard to crack out of.

So I went to our pool and was told they had a "chemical accident" pictures someone randomly dumping jug after jug of muriatic acid in the pool and cannot say when it will open back up. I went through the county hospital system and tried that but they've closed their pool until further notice...

@roberto1820 I don't know how encouraging I am, I'm sort of a mess, but def less of a mess than I was. I didn't want to die in the bed, that's at the bottom of it. I was a nurse for years, I've seen that, it's not what I wanted for myself and def not what I wanted my husband to deal with after...

@roberto1820 Thank YOU for encouraging me to post it. New things are always a bit hard for me but every time I push through fear I get stronger, even little things online. I appreciate the encouragement so much, it means a lot to me.

@dawn16 Thank you! I do want to invest in a trainer but I have to wait until the summer, that's when our pensions and and my husband's SS kicks in, right now we are living on mine and we are fine but we have to keep the budget tight. We don't have any CC bills anymore, managed to pay them all...

462 lbs at 58 vs 280 lbs at 62, 100 lbs(ish) left to go. Keep it pushin! TDLR: a brief(ish) synopsis of my story in case it helps someone else get on the path. So, a little nervous to post pics in here because ngl, y'all are ripped and I'm not even close yet, someone in r/progresspics...

@christina1979 LOL, yeah, that seems to be thing with age. I'd rather be sore and moving though, I've tried the alternative and 10/10 do not recommend.
