    Is 3 hours in the gym too much?

    @asdtmr12 3 hours spent lifting is excessive. I personally train 5x week with 90-120 minute sessions and they honestly beat the shit out if me. Laser focused and I never socialize. Some would call this excessive but I love training so I do it.

    @xene19 To a small degree yes, but not to a significant degree until twilight years. 30s is actually pretty damn prime from a physical perspective. There's a bit of a meme that we physically peak in our late 20s, and while that likely holds some truth, the dropoff isn't as sharp as people like...

    @jayaraj They aren't necessary for hypertrophy at all. What you're missing out on is strengthening a very functional movement pattern that translates into real life movement. All of the additional full body strengthening that comes with spinal loading as well. I personally love the barbell...

    @parodyofjay Yeah I definitely see your point. I just find it's a pretty effective format for me but I know it has limitations. I'm kinda used to training under high levels of fatigue.

    @parodyofjay I'm team upper/lower. I just superset pushes and pulls and get lots of work done. It does require decent conditioning though and can be exhausting at times.

    @danielkibby Just need more time in the game my friend. A natty can definitely look like they lift in any context once you get a good amount of muscle maturity and size. The exception may be during something like content prep and fully clothed.

    My 4 month recomp effort after 2 year pandemic hiatus

    @denise4god Great work on the recomp! I'm on the same journey myself after a 2 year break but started back up in April 2021. I feel worlds better now that I'm lifting regularly again.
