    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@frankda4th If you are able to do one from hanging then you are much farther along than most people including myself when I started :) so that's awesome! You will make quick progress :)

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@frankda4th I started with chin-ups. At the beginning, I would jump from a box and catch the bars at about half way (elbows bent at a 90 degree angle) - I would do a chin up as best as I could, hold, and then lower very slowly (arms would shake!). I would do this every time I would go to the...

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@rav054 You could get a pull up bar - or visit a playground and use the monkey bars :)

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@rav054 Aw shucks thank you! I've posted a few photos like this to my facebook profile and I had a guy friend from high school message me and very earnestly ask me what I was doing because he wanted biceps like mine! I've been quite consistent with my workouts/lifting but the chin-ups/pull-ups...

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@gaylfer Haha! Thank you. I never carried much fat in my upper body (check out my post history for a before pic; lower half is a different story). I'm a photographer which means hauling equipment around and holding a rather heavy camera up on a regular basis...so that probably had something to...

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@cortexhair OHP is excellent and what I started with for the first two months or so! Arnold Press is great in that it involves a larger range of motion and more work from your deltoids. It's never too late to incorporate some more exercises :) Isolated/Preacher curls are excellent - but I think...

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@francisco41 Yes, that's exactly why I added a bunch of other exercises. I'm hitting the muscle groups harder now than I was with SL and I'm having great results

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@francisco41 Yep that's right! If I'm feeling ambitious I'll do an ab day but I'm finding that the compound exercises like squats and overheads have really worked my core and I have a six pack now though I never used to haha! I may eventually do specific chest and/or back days but so far I'm...

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@francisco41 Leg day: Backweighted/Barbell Squats Deadlifts Leg Press Calf Press Glute prone press Walking weighted lunges Leg extensions Sometimes I don't do weighted lunges or something else if I'm short on time. But that's pretty much it! My bum is looking wayyyy perkier than ever. So...

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@djdanik For the most part, yes! Basic breakdown: Chin-ups and pull ups: I'll do 5-10 reps to warm up before my workout, and then throw some in in between squat sets/etc. at the rack. Bench press: 5x5 (Currently stuck at 75lbs) Standing Overhead Press: 5x5 (Working on achieving 5x5 at...

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@simmsimms I basically alternate arm day and leg day, so on average 2x a week I would say! I want to start incorporating a chest/back day too...but I'd rather be at the gym for 2 hours 3x a week than 1 hour 5x a week...

    [PROGRESS] - F/24/5'4" Arm progress - 0, 2, and 4 months of lifting heavy

@morehumble They've basically always been that shape, even when I was 15-20lbs heavier! They are wider from the side because of my newly grown biceps. What I really like is that my shoulders are rounder...it levels out my wider bottom half :D
