    Plateau After Recomp

@comyn7 I think the problem was that I didn’t have any goals. I think that now that we’re getting into the colder seasons, I’ll bulk and then cut in this spring.

    Plateau After Recomp

@dawn16 Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I think I was hoping that the beginner gains would last longer. It sounds like I’m going to be doing a winter bulk. What route did you take?

    Plateau After Recomp

@favor2020 Yeah, I was following the .7g/pound of body weight for my goal. I was looking to drop down to 180, but then realized it didn’t make a ton of sense to cut more in the winter. I’m going to up my calories and protein for the next 6ish months. Thanks for the feedback!

    Plateau After Recomp

@lisa66uk I did some calorie calculators to double-check my targets. It said to aim in the ballpark of 3200 net cals, but that seems pretty high for me. I can try it out and keep track of my weight.

    Plateau After Recomp

@lisa66uk Thank you! Do you have any bulking resources that you have used in the past?

    Plateau After Recomp

I’m a little over 1 year into consistent lifting. I gained about 10 pounds of muscle and lost over 15% body fat in that year. I’m sitting around 200 pounds and I’m at a plateau in every facet of my regime. My weight hasn’t changed in months, the volume I’m lifting in the gym hasn’t changed much...

7 sets for both hamstrings and quads?

@undergrace88 Yeah, these stupid fuckers that built my new apartment gym decided that a machine dedicated to glute blasters was more important than leg extensions or leg curls. Oh, we also have a dedicated deadlift machine.

7 sets for both hamstrings and quads?

@undergrace88 No leg extension machine either.

@ama1 I think the way Jeff films and edits his TikToks makes it look AI generated but I think it is legit lol

7 sets for both hamstrings and quads?

@firebreathingcat108 Interesting. Thanks! I think that Nordic leg curl with the smith machine locking my feet in might be the best bet. I didn’t think of that as an option.

7 sets for both hamstrings and quads?

@firebreathingcat108 Unrelated to OP, but curious to what you would do if your gym didn’t have a leg curl machine (assume they have virtually everything else…dumb ass gym)

    Jeff Nippard’s New Exercises

@orthodox_christian That’s fair - maybe “no bs” is a bit of a stretch, but he was one of my go-to’s when I was getting started. He was always a reliable source for me.

Lower/Upper/Lower for 3 days in a row, and then rest 1, and Upper again, and rest 2. Is it okay?

@jesussavedme10 It doesn’t sound like you’re training hard enough or you’re likely not progressing optimally. Most folks, if they’re training hard (and not on juice) need time to recover. But if you’re doing 30 minute sessions 5 days a week, yeah, you can recover before the next session.

Should I keep bulking or do a recomp at 16 ?

@sethy94 On the flip side, I’m 30 around the same height. Our bench, squat and deadlift maxes are in the same range. When I was cutting, I hit 197, I was at roughly 17% body fat. So everyone is a bit different.

@concernedcatholic You’re not a fan of the prone bone lat pull down?

Lower/Upper/Lower for 3 days in a row, and then rest 1, and Upper again, and rest 2. Is it okay?

@sammierose18 Two leg days, with one day separating them,at high intensity might be tough to recover from. You can definitely try it out and see how you feel. As someone else mentioned, maybe do upper/lower/upper - that might be more manageable from a recovery standpoint. Alternatively...

    Jeff Nippard’s New Exercises

Have you all seen his TikTok highlighting some “new” exercises that he recommends in his new pure hypertrophy program? Link below: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLYm8HfY/ To me, it’s a bit wild. I usually think of Jeff as one of the “no-bs” fitness influencers, but I guess you have to continue to...
