Summer Cut: 5'3/140--130 Ladies Group Chat

Hi all! If anyone knows how to work discord I'm open to a chat there as well! There were a lot of us with similar stats so I thought a separate post for questions/support would be helpful. Not to say others can't comment as well, but we are all so similar in current goals. For reminder, I'm...

    Does body recomposition actually work?

@_marc97 Those numbers are advertised, here in xxfitness we recommend closer to a 1g/1lb bodyweight. It feels high, but it makes a difference if you're trying to build muscle. It's also related to the ideal macros for recomp, less fats/carbs and more protein (in a relative ratio).

Was it dangerous to bail out of my squat with my hair like this? (See image)

@johnmarsten I expected to open this picture and see hair down to your waist..... not what I just saw. Long hair yes, I've had my own snag before, but yours, I would not be concerned no. Dude just wanted to talk to you. Maybe he meant well, maybe he is a creep, but as a coach I wouldn't be...

    Does body recomposition actually work?

@_marc97 3 months isn't nearly long enough. As others said, you need much more protein than that, 100g minimum. Recomp takes 6 months to a year. You say you're getting stronger. Trust the process

Box Owners, please monitor your “contact us” mailboxes and forms

@ilovejesus33 Agreed. My gym owner responds very fast and it's the main reason I tried them out and eventually started going and coaching. Those that don't respond don't get my drop in. I'm introverted and last thing I want is to blindly show up to a gym without speaking to anyone.

Is it appropriate for a coach to physically correct you?

@kingshellie That is so unprofessional. I would say something immediately.

    The Elusive Pull-Up

@staxx That will work! Be certain to secure it, don't want you slipping off. As another user commented as well, a local park is a great option if you have one available

Is it appropriate for a coach to physically correct you?

@kingshellie You're not overreacting. I would start by simply telling him not to touch you. Escalate to the owner/manager if needed. I coach crossfit and yes, there are times I touch someone, but never the upper thigh or anything inappropriate. At most I touch the elbows, sometimes traps...

    The Elusive Pull-Up

@staxx Do you do inverted rows by chance? The Nerdfitness link discusses these. You can do them off a dining table for instance. They will help tremendously

Half Marathon + Powerlifting Meet Write-Up

@mcooperiii That guy is clearly missing out. You're one bada** athlete and a determined individual. You absolutely crushed both of your goals, amazing job. Hopefully you rest up and let that knee get back to normal!

Emma Gardner not going to college to train at CompTrain

@dawn16 Absolutely, they would still have time for college part time, no problem. I think it's a mistake to completely not do it at all.

For those of you who don’t belong to a traditional box..

@trustlove147 I highly recommend linchpin, I've been following it for awhile and I'm very pleased. I did try street parking, the programming type was not for me.

Cardio gains w/o running. I hate to ask the question that’s asked every day but I hope my added wrinkle makes it unique

@childofgod418 There's loads to do with a C2 rower. C2 itself has a website where they post daily workouts, I also believe the gainslab has a cardio program you could follow.

New Year’s Resolution & 2024 Fitness Goals Megathread

@kalijasmine7 Honestly that sums up exactly why I love my peloton. Some days I want to go to the gym, see people and be social but there's plenty of days I simply need to be alone and the peloton is fantastic for getting a solid workout at home
