    @zfatu You're going to be (hopefully) doing a lot of drills and strength exercises before you even attempt an iron cross, so again, I'd strongly suggesting learning it the 'proper' way.

    @fromgenesistorevelation I do agree with that, it's an extremely difficult skill to learn. But I wouldn't call it a 'real' iron cross if you're using a false grip.

    @fromgenesistorevelation It's wrong in regards to proper technique. If I were learning, I wouldn't even train with a false grip. Bad habits are much easier to prevent than reverse.

    @zfatu As long as your arms are straight in the hang or hold, false grip is allowed. At least when I was competing. That being said, you don't necessarily want to do a false grip on something like an iron cross because you're actually using the wrong muscles even though it's easier. And again...

    @giangnt Oh certainly not. I sorta could do a shitty Maltese on floor because of training and drills for a rings Maltese. Which, admittedly, I never really got close to at all lol.

    @giangnt I've trained a Japanese handstand from the splits but that's it. Floor malteses were a result of just training malteses.

Planches on rings are a lot harder because the thing holding you up, is not stable like on p. bars or floor. So your body, specifically your shoulders and chest have to do much...

    @seangibbons You're totally right, but it's definitely not impossible. Especially if you're specifically training for the skill itself. Front levers are really hard, I could barely do those in my 'prime' lol.

    @stonesoffire Ex-gymnast here. Didn't do anything with it in college but I was Junior Olympic level 10 for four years. If anyone wants to talk to someone who trained as a gymnast, I'd be happy to share my experiences. (or just work out tips).
