Running the Giant program- C+P or push press/jerk?

@belovedsone GS guy here. I see that your goal is to move up in bell size. With that in mind, I would definitely recommend C&J. With the jerk you can move more weight. When you've done enough jerks with a heavier weight, your pressing strength will improve as well, since you'll have to...

Finding double 20kg front squats difficult

@brownie Perhaps you can try a different squat variation? Put the KBs on your shoulders instead of holding them in the front rack. It makes it a bit more like a back squat.

    DFW first timer , questions

@caz911 I'm a bit confused. IIRC DFW is 3x/week (non-consecutive days) and S&S is most or all days a week, isn't it? If that is so, perhaps you can simply drop S&S on DFW days, at least in the beginning, and add it back in when you feel you'll be comfortable. A second option is to do what you...

    Feeling after workout

@tutrinhatpro My 2 cents: as a marathon runner you will already have a high level of base endurance. Just because you are using a KB doesn't mean that it's strength training; depending on the weight, it can be biased more towards endurance. We don't know your BW, but in general 35 lb is the...

    DFW first timer , questions

@caz911 Thanks for adding the context. My suggestions remain the same. I personally train with a long-term view and I don't mind getting strong slower if it means I get to be injury-free; I'm assuming your thinking is similar. I share this to give you an idea where my suggestions come from. My...

    DFW first timer , questions

@caz911 Without enough context about your background, age, lifestyle etc: my suggestion would be to go with 20 kg for C&P and 24 kg for FSQ. Also it's not clear whether you're using singles or doubles. I'm assuming you're using singles. Source: I've done DFW with 3RM weights (for C&P) and while...
