Haven’t missed the gym since Christmas. Is it necessary to have rest days if I’m doing PPL?

@paigek91 Ok. Just me. I mean when I did 531 I didn’t really do deload weeks because I didn’t feel I needed them.

Haven’t missed the gym since Christmas. Is it necessary to have rest days if I’m doing PPL?

@paigek91 If I can train day in and day out without needing rest days, I would start questioning if I’m training hard enough.

    Best workout app?

@dawn16 It was a close second place, but cus I like being able to track weight, kcal and bf% (and RPE!), so Strong won.

Whats your normal rep drop off between sets? Does it change for each exercise? Interested to hear if this varies for different people

@lovely_krystal86 I do 2-3 sets and I stay 8-12(sometimes 15) reps. So my reps increase with my sets because I drop the weight. If I hit 8 reps on set one I’ll drop the weight 10% or so. Might hit 8 or 9 reps second set. Then I drop another 10-15% and do a third set, to stay in my rep range...

    6 day bro split

@rijesusfreak I’m doing - Chest triceps abs - Back biceps hamstring - Quads calves shoulders Four day version of that is quads and calves by themselves and hams are done on shoulder day. I think pros do well on bro/5 day splits because their massive bodies need longer to heal. I think a...

What is your favorite four-day split?

@jlrodriguez Technically 3 days done over 4. Day 1 (1a) Day 2 Day 1 again (1b) Day 3 Off Day 1 is weak point bodyparts. Optional Off Day between 1a and 1b. I did "Push" on 1a, and delts then chest (in that order) on 1b. 1a is chest, delts, triceps.

Body part split better than upper/lower?

@audreyann Yeah he said it was like his favorite program. Used it 1983 to 1985 while he was still natty. It, or a variation, will probably be my next off-season program, 1, 2, Off, repeat. Extra days off as needed.

Best split to train 3 times a week where the training sessions are one after the other?

@brklynflp I would do 1A, 2A, 1B, 2B. So like, Upper 1A, Lower 2A, Upper 1B, Lower 2B. So if you bench on Wednesday, you can do Incline Bench on the Friday. Same but different. Or you can do same workouts but 6-8 range the one day, and 12-15 the other.

My results from a low volume and frequency program (with measurements)

@angelica009 Dorian Yates Olympia split! Also like it. Shoulder and triceps, and chest and biceps days were my favorite.

@livingme7 I do single leg leg press on my second leg day, I like them. Belt squat would be nice to try!

New "RIR 1-2 vs RIR 0" Study - Similar gains

@livingme7 My RIRs are in the 1s and 0s on most things except like quad stuff, deadlifts etc. RIR the fuck out of some bicep curls, sure. But on a leg press my head will pop before my legs quit. On those things I go higher volume and often 3/4 reps to keep it TUT instead.
