How much money per month do you invest on fitness?

@defd2000 I pay about $38 a month for my Ifit membership to use with my spin bike. It was either that or a gym membership, but I have enough equipment at home to get by and I'm too lazy to drive the 15+ minutes in traffic to go to the gym after work and all the gyms around here require contracts...

Good, cheap protein on Amazon and a heart rate monitor that actually works and doesn’t cost $500?

@ms7dc I use Kaged Elite powder, two scoops in the morning in a shake with spinach, broccoli, strawberries, and banana, and another 2 scoops for lunch with pineapple, cauliflower, raspberries and blackberries. Keeps me full most of the day until dinner, but I also drink a ton of water during the...

Good, cheap protein on Amazon and a heart rate monitor that actually works and doesn’t cost $500?

@blacksheeprunner Yeah a few months ago I was totally happy with Garmin. I have the Instinct Tactical watch, it's built like a tank, been able to use it hiking, skiing, etc. goes under water, amazing watch with pretty accurate HR tracking as well(compared to my at home BP monitor and chest...

Good, cheap protein on Amazon and a heart rate monitor that actually works and doesn’t cost $500?

@blacksheeprunner I would have argued for how good Garmin's app is/was, but after the latest update to it they totally torpedoed it. Another vote for Kaged here, probably the best tasting "clean" protein I've found...just for whatever reason lately they don't seem to have any 3 lb. tubs in stock.

How do you keep energised at work without surgery snacks when dieting?

@divinity3 When we were in the office I always took my own snacks in, mostly celery sticks or a piece of fruit. I'd also keep a box of protein bars in a desk drawer, couple in the car as well in case I needed a quick snack that would fill me up. After breakfast I'd make a protein shake with a...

What’s in your water bottle at the gym?

@kmman Usually electrolyte powder and if I'm in between orders I'll mix my normal water with some coconut water.

Should I eat 60g of protein or 259g?

@nowhereman Yeah this is something that has always driven me nuts. No matter who you ask or what fitness "expert" you watch, they either say 1g per lb. or 1g per kg, gets really confusing and I've never seen any of them be consistent. Doing 2 shakes a day(50g each with fruit and veggies mixed...

Lost weight, but lost muscle mass while gained body fat

@jeannec Where are you getting your numbers from? If you're using one of those "smart scales" that supposedly gives you your body fat and muscle %, those things are worthless. I actually got one of those as a X-mas gift and used it to be nice, but didn't really pay attention to anything...

Folks who workout twice a day, what does your life look like on a daily basis?

@heegar I'm single, with a cat, and work from home. I'm fortunate that my hours are flexible, but normally are about 10AM-7PM every day. I get up about 8:00 AM(I should say the cat gets me up...sometimes earlier depending on how hungry she is, lol...I don't even need an alarm at this point since...

    Sleep or lack thereof

@gbecca87 It's all about pre-bed habits. I used to have pretty awful sleep patterns and was only getting 5-6 hours of decent sleep a night. I looked at what I was doing before bed and found I was snacking a lot in the hours leading up to bed time and was also consuming a lot of screen time with...

Long post: 45M - 6'6" 250lb. Am I overtraining and/or advice on with my diet/sleep/supplement regimen. Getting tired more often and looking for help

@baseball1846 I didn't see any mention of post workout stretching which is probably contributing to the soreness, but sounds to me like you are overtraining and not giving your body any time to rest. Try going down to lifting/training hard 4 days a week and see if things improve. I would also...

    8:30 mile testing

@oldgringo If you are trying to get an accurate mile time you'll want to just run it outside or on a measured track. Treadmills can be all over the place with calibration being off and so many people using them, you're going to get different results on each one you use.

I need help deciding if this workout should only be done once a week or if I lack a high fitness levellevel

@swan617 Once a week is fine, just make sure you are also fitting in recovery workouts in between.

How do you choose your supplement brand?

@conner I check out the research and studies and figure out what doesn't have all the junk and fillers in it, this was especially important when choosing a protein powder for me.

Says here that the farmer’s carry is a full-body workout. Can I just do farmer’s carries every day?

@kimberlystambaugh Sounds like rock climbing, first few times I went with my climbing friend I discovered muscles in areas I never knew existed because I was so sore, lol.

What do you do when you miss a workout?

@mdhess Pick up where I left off. Missing 1-2 days isn't a big deal, it's when you get lazy and let it spiral into 3-4 or a week. You can also try to just do some random stuff while you're out of town to mimic some of your workout. People think I'm weird, but I always throw a couple bands and my...
