How to keep motivated to workout daily when stuck in the 9-5 corporate cycle?

@abnerpublishing I go to the work gym at 6 am when it opens. I'm in 8:00-5:30-ish corporate world.

@tomythedreamer No 37.5# dbs at work gym or gym near house. 5# increments once above 20#s.

@krishna2012 Thanks. There aren't 2.5# increment weights once above 20#s. I'll get creative with reps, sets, rest suggestions to increase in a couple weeks.

@destind4greatness I normally use my left side as my measure for rep or weight increase but haven't tried maxxing out that side. I'll try that.

@jebzuz Currently set of 3x10. I'll increase next week to 3x12, do another week of 3x12, then try to increase weight to 40@ 3x5 and see if I can. If not, I'll try one of the bridge suggestions for a week or 2, then see if I can do 3 sets of 40@ 3x6 (or 40@ 3x5) and slowly work up to 3x12 again...

What’s in your water bottle at the gym?

@pottyone No electrolytes if you're a heavy sweater? Adding cardio or just lifting?

And why did I get downvoted, asking for advice on increasing weights on progressive overload?

    DB Press Increase

    (F) Doing dumbbell press with 35-pounders. Now at 3x10. I'll increase to 3x12 for about 2 weeks before I increase. But here's my dilemma: going from 35s to 40s is a pretty big weight increase, even if I drop to 3x6 / 8. Is there anything for an in-between weight bump?

What’s in your water bottle at the gym?

@kmman You can take creatine any time. I just add to preworkout because my creatine is in a tub and I mix preworkout at night. Check examine.com or pubmed. Lots of studies on muscular benefits, but also brain and gut health.

M/34/5’7” Would joining CrossFit be too intense for someone who’s obese?

@borisv Strava for running groups too! Volksmarch is walking, generally in the city.

@borisv Also check Meetups for "volksmarch".

What’s in your water bottle at the gym?

@zoukirovic Not for energy, just take consistently (daily). It's in a tub and so's my preworkout - it's just easier to add then instead of at the office. It's not a magic pill, so there's no "super" to it - still gotta put in the work.

@kandywandy Ooh. I like this list. I normally just search examine or pubmed.

What’s in your water bottle at the gym?

@servingnovice Basic creatine monohydrate works. Some preworkouts or protein can include it but I just buy the unflavored powder. It's a little chalky, so shake often. I bought mine from Bulk Supplements on Amazon but you can get from almost anywhere (WM, Vitamin Shoppe, grocery store, etc.).
